Good evening. It hasn't been as hot today so I went a walk. Still warm but a cooling wind blasting across the fields. One of my regular routes. The turf fields are looking pretty parched and all the massive sprinklers were in full flow. There are underground pipes with access to attach the big hoses. I don't know where the water comes from, there is a pond not far away but I have never seen it. It is on private land.
Nothing new to take photo's of. This colourful thistle was standing tall in the wind, above all the other wild flowers in the field.
I have just been outside to put the hedgehog food out, and it's quite cold now. There is a storm threatening so if it rains overnight that would relieve me of my watering up duties. If it doesn't rain I will water the pots in the morning.
Nothing more to report on this Sunday evening. Catch ya tomorrow.

I love the colour of that flower Ilona my favourite colour. As I get older I seem to notice all the flowers and trees around me much more and I appreciate it all so much.i really love to see the nature outside also the duck pond the fox's I feed at night I think I've turned into a real nature lover lolxx
ReplyDeleteMy favourite colour also. I think when we are young we are rushing around so much we don't notice the beauty that mother nature brings us. My life is now much slower, time to smell the roses, and the thistles.
DeleteWe are now having a heatwave here in the southeast portion of the US. I agree with Jo, I think as time goes on we slow down to take notice of things more. The thistle is a beautiful color.
ReplyDeleteIt is much cooler here today. I wore a jacket while I walked to the chat and craft group this morning. When I got there and declared that I was cold, they all jumped on me and said it isn't cold, it's warm. I think I need some more meat on my bones.
DeleteThat thistle is beautiful. This year I scattered wildflower seeds in a big patch in the garden. They're blooming now. There's a lot of flowers similar to the thistle but they're soft and furry - the bees are loving them all. It's created a lovely variety of wildflowers.
ReplyDeleteI have seen a lot more patches of wild flowers about just lately. I didn't get any seeds for my front garden, but by just holding off the mowing I have a patch of yellow flowers dancing in the wind.
