Good afternoon. The weather is a bit iffy at the moment. It's humid, warm, and windy, and keeps threatening rain. I am thinking should I go out. I went to the Post Office in the church and took out some cash, but that's as far as I went. I have places to go, but I am going out tomorrow so I will do several errands all in the same journey.
I have started my next sewing project. I know, I will make a cover for a book. The book must be about 50 years old, that's a guess, and was found in a book shop in Southampton. Susan, a Lady Trucker friend found it and sent it to me, about 35 years ago, that's another guess.
It's a sort of patchwork and will have lots of stitching all over it. I am using up some scraps, of which I have plenty.
This description of the story is inside the front cover. I remember reading about half of it quite a lot of years ago. I might pick it up again but I would have to start at the beginning. I don't have enough patience to read a book all the way through from cover to cover. The original hard back cover is looking a bit sad. It needs a new look.
Inside the book I found a cutting from a magazine. I remember saving this because the words resonated with me. Even many years ago from an early age, I knew I was destined to do my own thing. There are pin marks near the top where I pinned it onto my notice board, so it caught my eye whenever I was in the room.
Lunch was a stir fry with chopped onions, frozen peas, and noodles. Very nice.
It is now 2.30pm. I ought to go out for a short walk. Then I will carry on with the stitching.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip. ilona
Your book cover is lovely & bright & cheery looking Ilona. I really REALLY like that little verse - that is just wonderful. I can just see why it appealed to you.
ReplyDeleteNext will be to add more stitching to the cover. Something I can pick up and work on when I have a few spare minutes.
DeleteThe book cover is beautiful. And the paper on your pin board was written for you. You have always known your path. Keep going mother, full steam ahead!!!
