How many cans in the bag?

Hello.
This video was uploading while I was at Crafty Club this morning. It shows the extent of the littering I was about to tackle at the Football Ground yesterday.
First pull out all the cans from underneath the trees. Today I only want the cans.
Then start filling the trolley. There are 100 cans in this photo. Yes, I counted every one.

There are 200 cans in this photo. Not full yet.
Now the bag is full. Guess how many cans. I struggled to tie up the top.
Then I added the one bag to the other three I picked on Friday.
I am now using these labels to confirm that this is not fly tipping. The Council will come and collect these, today or tomorrow.
I may not go back to the Football Ground for the rest of the litter. It is hard work to bend down low and scramble underneath the branches. A long reach picker stick is needed and I haven't got one.
Monday afternoon and it is warm and sunny. A Billy dog walk for later when it has cooled down a bit.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. Like the stickers saying who did it,.. great idea......just incase the council get funny (you know how they can be sometimes), although I thought the pink bags were official bags for volunteers, is that right? But it doesn't matter to make it all the more obvious that it really isn't fly tipping. I need to look into if you council do that too. I thought that someone told you that that car park was sold and being developed though, so it will all be buldosed and claered anyway won't it? Norma in Stafford.

    1. I am getting low on red bags, but I have lots of black bags. I will use those, with a label, while I wait for new red ones to be delivered. New housing is on the agenda, but that could take anything up to five years before work starts.

  2. Well done. A local church got members to save all of the aluminium drinks cans and foil from pies, until they had enough to sell for funds. It raised a surprising amount.

    1. I believe it is possible to make some money from recycling, but it would take a lot of people to get involved for it to be worthwhile.

You do so much work to keep the trails beautiful. I pick up trash, when I walk, but its on city streets so there isn't that much. The trashers like to hide their dirty deed. Did you watch the soccer match between England and Mexico? Yay, England!! I'm enjoying watching the games.

    1. I don't follow any sporting events. I am not interested in football.
      BUT . . . . I went to a football match in 2019.
