The previous owners had them as a path under the washing line, to save walking on grass when pegging the washing out. I took them up because I didn't like them, and they have been used on different projects around the garden ever since. But you have to be quick, nothing useful stays there for long... also its a bit unhygienic since it is not uncommon to move a cardboard box only to find a dead and decomposing animal (sheep, dog, cat usually) underneath.
