I remember seeing you on tellie a couple of years ago and recently I thought 'I wonder what happened to that frugal lady who used to be a lorry driver'! One thing I'd like to ask is have you ever tried making your own wine? I note that you spent £5 on a bottle in your shopping. I make my own and it's not difficult. If you use stuff from the garden (such as lemonbalm) you only really pay for the sugar. A bottle costs about 20p to make. Best wishes, Austin. You did an amazing job with your shop. I used to be able to buy a large number of reductions. However there are quite a number chasing those bargains too and I cannot and will not join a maelstrom of fighting people for food. Are there others that find there can be wild behaviour over reduced foods?Suzehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15283293507101152512noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3556657999892839298.post-54800394229218280552013-11-23T01:52:58.659+00:002013-11-23T01:52:58.659+00:00sounds like you got some great buys!

She is like clockwork with her food. However, every time I come home with a bag, Merlin goes and roots in it, expecting to find turkey from Mum's. She cuts off the little bits (she's very fussy) and also puts in a lions share. This is, I must say, for Merlin!Campfirehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06573797205145907726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3556657999892839298.post-79064468050210438022013-11-22T21:51:01.978+00:002013-11-22T21:51:01.978+00:00Well done Ilona. Aldi and Lidl are great for cheaper fruit and veg, especially Aldi's super 6. We are lucky if we see a few pence taken off an item in the cheapo cabinet. Meat is real expensive now and you just never find a good bargain anymore. You seem to be doing very well with it up north. If there's a trolley of items waiting to be reduced, I ask a member of staff if they can reduce them for me and hang around while they do it. Last week, someone had thrown away a £4 off voucher. I picked it up off the wet ground and used it. I also had a £1.50 voucher of my own.
