As i was driving along a road through a golf course someone was about to take a shot so i stopped, after a load of 'practice swings' i reckobed he must have hit it by now so i set off. He hadn't and shouted that i was supposed to wait and i'd ruined his shot and the usual 'i've a good mind to phone your boss and get you sacked'.
The litter thrown from vehicles is one of my pet hates and the highways and byways all around the country are strewn with it. It can be a problem at night if its in the road, you cant always make out what it is until the last moment.
Dave.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3556657999892839298.post-55800146341222811552014-04-12T18:54:21.373+01:002014-04-12T18:54:21.373+01:00Drove past there last weekend when I had to go to ...Drove past there last weekend when I had to go to a conference in Lincoln. I was married 40 years ago this year in St Nicholas's Church, it is a beautiful old church, mentioned in the Doomsday Book!
Thorne has changed so much over the years, it was a thriving market town and now like a lot of these places its quite run down and there is a lot of unemployment.
Glad you enjoyed your walk, shame about the golf ball, hope it wasnt my brother, he plays golf there!Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11228988475838309316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3556657999892839298.post-53295203497624667432014-04-11T19:42:25.260+01:002014-04-11T19:42:25.260+01:00Danneke having a look in === The Canal Tavern pub...Danneke having a look in === The Canal Tavern pub I remeber well, I did a gig there when I sang on the country music scene, the band slept in their van after the show but I took a room in the pub as it was too late for me to go back to Scarboro and we were doing a show in the south next night. The travellers horse looks ok but needs his mane trimmed a bit, the travellers have camped in that area for some years now , probably move on for summer and the various travellers firs. What a shame you couldnt use the trays that were begging for a new home Ilona, The shop I used to get mine from has now closed down so I will have to find a new source. Loved the stained glass windows in the church so pretty.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3556657999892839298.post-80822162237748241612014-04-11T14:31:58.253+01:002014-04-11T14:31:58.253+01:00A lovely walk to follow you along to. Reduced sticker cherry tomato pack, also lettuce pieces packs x2, angus beef thai sausages, chicken burgers x4 and that was all that was reduced before it goes out of date. The meat got popped in the freezer for kids. The tomatoes eaten for lunch. The lettuce for the fridge.
