I bought this macrame covered hanger thingy from a charity shop for £2.50. I think it's a hanger for your scarves. Put them through the circles and hang it in the wardrobe. I saw something else. I want to fill the 16 circles with colourful felt and decorate them. I saw it had potential to become a wall hanging. Each one is cut to the right size and stitched onto the back of the macrame frame.
I have photographed it on a black background so the colours stand out more. When they were all finished I cut 16 more circles and stitched them onto the back to cover up the messy stitching. I like a tidy back. I didn't do the macrame, I just designed the 16 centre circles. I had no particular theme in mind. The decorations are all embroidered by hand. No glue has been used. There will be an Open Exhibition at the 20 21 Arts Centre in town, later in the year. I might enter it in that.
Time to get the hedgehog food out. I mowed the lawns this afternoon and the garden looks lovely.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip. ilona
Your creations always amaze me. I know if I had looked at the same scarf hanger I would have seen…a scarf hanger lol. The time that is in each circle. How do you even put a price on that? Congratulations on the finished job. I know you already have something in mind as the next project. 😊
ReplyDeleteThank you. My craft table is a mess as I gather a few bits and bobs for the next project. I need to have a tidy up. It's like having a cluttered mind when you want to move on. First get rid of the clutter.
DeleteThat is absolutely beautiful Ilona & I love what you have done with the macrame hanger. I cannot choose a favorite circle as each one is so unique & wonderful. Good on you - that would've been such a lovely project to work on. 💙
ReplyDeleteThanks Julie. I cut out 16 felt circles first. Then started adding the decorations as ideas came into my head. Checking each one in turn to see if I needed to add anything more. Eventually I reach the point when I thought that's it. Now sew them into the macrame frame.
DeleteWhat a great work of art! Sixteen totally different circles. And all so colourful, it will be really uplifting and brighten up the room where it is on the wall.

Thank you Hilde. It is on my wall at the moment. My wall is yellow so it is not shown to it's best potential. It needs a darker background.
DeleteBeautiful work Ilona!!😊
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I think that is my second favourite of yours, after the enchanted wood/garden (can't remember it's actual name now).
ReplyDeleteBloody hell, that is exquisite. Your creative skills are - well, I think if you hadn't have been a lorry driver, you could have been a very successfull artist,... . Norma in Stafford.
ReplyDeleteIt was possibly in my genes. My uncle and father were both artists. I didn't have time to explore it before I retired.
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful. I can see why you wouldn't want to sell it yet. Got to enjoy looking at it yourself first.
ReplyDeleteI love.your work. You have a very distinctive.style.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning Ilona. I hope you find somewhere to exhibit this as it needs to be seen.
ReplyDeleteThere is an Open Exhibition coming up at the 20 21 Arts Centre. It will be difficult to choose my best pieces for that.
DeleteThis is wonderful. You take Felt to a new level. I have felt from many years ago when it was inexpensive and realize it has great potential to become lovely art.
ReplyDeleteI remember using felt at school. It is so easy to cut it up and piece it together again. The possibilities are endless. Now you've got me thinking about another project.
DeleteThat's absolutely beautiful Ilona. You are a very talented lady!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. You're so talented. I love seeing your creations
