I would love to start that goal next year though it's hard to find a place to walk in winter where I live because of the lack of sidewalks and the amount of snow we usually get.

BTW, how old is Bugsy? My Ernie, who is fifteen this coming March often regurgitates his food, especially the dry kibble. He tends to eat very fast (he was also a rescue found on the streets).
Gailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04003204378492456488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3556657999892839298.post-83793338998420519242016-12-20T18:51:25.190+00:002016-12-20T18:51:25.190+00:00Well done! :D xxWell done! :D xxVampire Hearthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09904043363734973305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3556657999892839298.post-63390934686565121292016-12-20T15:09:44.365+00:002016-12-20T15:09:44.365+00:00Thanks for the information Ilona. We started on 25th January because it took me that long to decide I could commit to it. I'm so glad I did and that my husband joined me. As you say about yourself we are far fitter now mentally as well as physically.
Am I wrong in thinking you said you weren't recording our efforts next year?
Reading the comments here it sounds as though people are hoping you will.
I would be delighted if you did. Your blog feels like a family and you encourage everyone to meet their own targets. One thing I love about it is that you emphasise that it's not about beating anyone else but about improving our own fitness. Please do it again next year. In the meantime enjoy the holiday time. I'm sure it will be a celebration that Bugsy has perked up. I've just bought one of those cheaper versions of fitbit thingies and am horrified to find that even on my busy days I haven't got much over 5000 steps (though I think it doesn't register gently taken steps). I suppose if 10,000 steps is the target for people in the prime of life I can get away with a bit less being 65, but hope I can get more motivated if I join you - I know I'm not as fit as you to start with, so just hope to build up my exercise a bit.littlegrebehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09603350992965640470noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3556657999892839298.post-33316864053642267972016-12-18T21:29:20.993+00:002016-12-18T21:29:20.993+00:00Hi ilona, man here, ok if i join the walking chall...Hi ilona, man here, ok if i join the walking challenge next year?,thank you.Ray.nhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11178324516666555128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3556657999892839298.post-64209084893103136332016-12-18T20:11:21.110+00:002016-12-18T20:11:21.110+00:00Huge Congratulations on finishing the 1000 miles c...Huge Congratulations on finishing the 1000 miles challenge:) So thrilled to hear the news on Bugsy such a relief for sureβ₯ Linda xx Manchester Lass, Now and Thenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04946068658998389838noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3556657999892839298.post-39032182279230909492016-12-18T20:09:47.617+00:002016-12-18T20:09:47.617+00:00I think I might fall short of my target Ilona but ...I think I might fall short of my target Ilona but I am cranking up the miles this coming week with a few extra walks. Cats won't eat if they can't smell the food. It's always worth trying warming some wet food up very slightly for a cat that's off their food, this makes it smell stronger. Or mash it with a little warm water. I can't do the walking challenge due to a bad back but, trying to be resourceful, have dusted the exercise bike in the spare room to begin on January 1st. The machine was made in Spain so I expect it is in kilometres (I think 4km equals 2.5 miles so my reckoning is to cycle 5km a day). Lovely food - thanks for the tip about Danish Blue cheese, yum. Best wishes to Bugsy. I started regular walking after my heart attack in January as part of the cardio rehab they offered me. Nearly a year later I feel great, have lost over a stone (without dieting at all) and wouldn't think of stopping. Walking is free, full of interesting sights and easy to fit in even if you work full time like me. I think I'll join you next year and see if I can do 1000 miles in one year!

Delighted your Bugsy is picking up xxClaire DeLunehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16670576625079063698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3556657999892839298.post-41850084471095309122016-12-18T12:33:23.677+00:002016-12-18T12:33:23.677+00:00Bless you for looking after your cat. I would normally not buy these at Β£1.50, but as they were 38p I thought it would make a nice change. A bag of potatoes is very cheap at the moment, but I am not going to slice and batter them. Vet did everything but then advised we had him "put to sleep" We asked was he in pain and he replied no, just weak and has given up. We decided to take him home and give him a few days in his own surroundings. I did him some beef tea and just syringed it in to his mouth every few hours only a few ml at a time. I was going to take him back to the vets when he ate a mouthful of tuna off a teaspoon and then great rejoicing - he peed.
He had a further 2 and a half years with us enjoying lying in the sun in summer and curling up in front of the fire with our dog in the winter.
Cats are tenacious things, so lets hope Bugsy keeps going, he reminds me so much of my cat xxAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
