Not only is it tragic that it is poor little children this time, it is also tragic that it happened AGAIN! How many times must this happen before America wakes up? x
I feel the same but also sad and angry that nothing will really change here; there just isnt the polical will and the people who own these terrible weapons see no reason to relinquish them even in the face of this terrible tragedy.
Jan again.Such a terrible thing. The effect on all those touched by this is beyond the imagination. Those poor familes.Hope they get the support they are going to need. On a much lighter note, which feels trivial I know,I wanted to mention something I've seen on another site. It's offering the chance for someone to win £200 of goodies for their pet.Thought about Rocky and your cats. It's a pet food company,GJW Titmuss (I've never heard of them before so I'm really not advertising).Don't understand how such things work, but thought you'd have the skills to suss it out if you were interested. If it's genuine and you go for it,good luck. Thank you for spreading compassion where it's most needed. Jan.
Wow...That is a terrible thing to say. The 26 Americans that were murdered were likely intelligent people who were massacred by a mentally ill individual.
Ilona....Janets comment should be removed for its sheer hatefulness in the face of this tragedy.
Sorry, there was no intention to offend. Please accept my utmost apologies if I did. There is no-one who is more offended by the scope of this tragedy than I am.

Really upset me too. I went to the school that I am a governor at to watch the Christmas nativity plays on Wednesday. Those children that were murdered in America would have completely wiped out one of our classes (there are only 18 in one class). Looking at their innocent faces, full of hope and happiness - how could anyone do that to them? Anywhere
You are absolutely right Ilona, no matter what we say or do about their gun laws, they will either do something or nothing. Our role in this tragedy is to grieve the loss of the children and others killed, to sympathise with the poor parents, and to pay respect to those who attended the scene - the sight that met those first responders would have been horrific and my heart goes out to them as well. My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected in this senseless tragedy. It's so hard to understand "why" in instances like this...totally heartbreaking.
How awful, how can those poor parents and family, come to terms with such a tragedy. God Bless all who are suffering today, my thoughts are with you all, x Patricia Brambley
I"m not religious so praying would not come naturally to me. I have compassion for the people who have lost someone and for the fears those people shot would have had just before. Doesn't bear thinking about. Guns I just hate.
A terrible time. I am not religious either (re: Campfire) but I am a human being with feelings and compassion. How anyone could do this is hard for me to understand. I feel for those left behind. Every time I think about what those children - mere babies really - went through (and of course the adults too) I feel some sort of 'pain' and a definite sickness.
I appreciate this post even though I am not a woman of faith.
May the affected families gather strength to get through this awful time.
Absolutely heartbreaking to hear that yet another shooting massacre has happened in America. Can't bear to watch the news, just cry. Those innocent little children with their whole lives ahead of them just snuffed out. My thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends and loved ones affected by this devastating tragedy. Can't even begin to imagine what they are going through. I just hope that the US gun laws are revised, so that this will never happen again. So very, very sad. Christy.
My posting days are over. I am so saddened by this tragedy, I have a grand daughter the same age as those lost to this very, very sad incident. As I seem to be unwelcome here with my opinions, this is the last comment I will make on your blog. No offence to you Ilona, I'm not interesting enough to have my own blog and always felt 'accepted' with my thoughts here. I would just like to say that I am not a 'hateful' person, but perhaps a realist. You can't legislate bad people out, wish we could.
Would like to wish you all the best and hope you keep on doing your very interesting saving, crafting, painting and looking after the kitties and Rocky. I will read, but, you've had your last comments from me.
Janet, I'm sorry to hear that. You made a mistake. Emotions were bound to be inflamed by such a horrific event. I try to keep my blog free from prejudice, here everyone is equal.
Janet....I am sorry you feel you should leave. You have apologized for your comment and all is forgiven. We all say things in the heat of the moment that we regret. Please reconsider.
I have an almost 5 year old granddaughter here inj Michigan. Everytime I think of her innocence and the innocence of those poor children I well up with tears. I just watched a CNN program about this and a mother of a surviving 6 year old had to put a note on their pront door bell because everytime the little boy heard it ring, he was frightened the bad man was coming back for him. It breaks my heart. When my daughter went to pick up my DGD from nursery school yesterday, a lot of the waiting parents were fighting tears of gratitude because they had the priveledge of hugging their children and taking them home. It just breaks my heart. Joan
I feel just as you do . Thank you for voicing your feelings . What a lovely lady you are
