Getting on with it.

Hello.
Moving swiftly on........Dontcha love a good laff. While bimbling around on yootoob I found this funny vid which is sure to titillate the chuckle buds. I challenge you to keep a straight face. You will fail.

If you like that, take a look at how it was made.

I am back at the holiday home, with two doggies by my side. The TV has been switched off, nothing else I want to watch. Don't think I will be getting a tele and a licence, it's a complete waste of time and money.

I only had time to pop in the craft club this morning and say hello. Last night I realized I hadn't paid my credit card bill because I had put it in a drawer and forgotten it. I wrote a cheque for the car tax, but there was no stub for the card payment. Oh dear, only two days to get it in, so I did a dash to the bank in town. It was only £31, but I didn't want to pay interest on it.

Thank you all for your comments and emails yesterday, and your support. Publishing the troll comment has really wound her up, her expertise is mind games. There have been more today. Sarcastic, smart arse comments, she's the sort of person who always likes to think she has the upper hand. I won't inflict any more of her vitriol onto you. I see some of you asked questions, if you want to email me I will answer them. There are two short answers I can give here. Yes, you are spot on, and yes, you are correct.
Now let's just get on with it and say.......... STUFF THE TROLL.

  1. I thought of you this week. It was our anniversary and my friends asked if we were doing anything special? yes I said. We took the dog to the beach and had a lovely long walk, chatting and enjoying the sunshine. It was free. My lovely husband cooked us a special meal of leftovers made into a tasty stew. What a smashing day it was, (I knew you would approve hee hee).
I hope 2015 is a happy, healthy new year for you. xx

  2. Glad the troll isn't getting you down! I agree about most of tv, only thing that worries me is since loads of people watch tv progs online they don't have to pay the licence fee; what is going to become of the bbc? Although they are now getting programs made by private companies I would hate to see them lose their own individual power to make and commission programs.

Love your blog, all the best for 2015!

  4. Hi Ilona, as you say stuff em, you're great and if people don't want to read well it's their loss. Is the troll anonymous or do you know them? If so I'd be inclined to name and shame. However reading between the lines I think I might know who you are referring to. Chin up chuck

  6. Hi, Ilona.I had a good chuckle from watching the video thanks for brightening my day.Had a lovely walk with hubby and doggies on the boardwalk in the wetland area of Presquille Provincial Park and then a stroll through a forest.Ahh!Just what we needed after all the holiday schlemozzle.Nature has a way of restoring and regrounding a weary spirit. Was away from the computer and just now caught up on your posts. And have popped over to some of the blogs on your sidebar-such nice people and interesting stuff.Warm regards, Destemona

  7. That video was hilarious! And wasn't it nice to hear that the production company used shelter dogs and cat for the video shoot.

I hope that you got your credit card paid on time. One time I forgot to pay a cc bill from a company called Discover. It got buried under some mail. When I realized it, about 15 days late, I called and they waived the interest and late fee because it was my first time not paying on time. Not that it is good when that happens, but sometimes the cc company is understanding.

I agree with you, STUFF THE TROLL!

  8. From Margie in Toronto - back to work today but certainly had a lovely 5 days off! I did buy some extras and a few gifts for people but it was much more low key than in the past and much more enjoyable as I was able to concentrate on the people rather than the stuff. Glad you've enjoyed your time with the dogs Ilona and with the bit of TV as a treat.
Don't let the troll bother you - I really don't understand why people think this sort of bullying is acceptable - it's just spitefulness and says more about their sad lives than the person they are attacking. Just pathetic!

  9. I read the previous post and smiled when I saw you wrote "this post will self destruct." A sense of humor is a saving grace, that is for sure. Thanks for the laughs with the video.

  10. I see your anonymous commentator does actually say who she is..... so why does she comment under 'Anonymous'?

    1. If you don't have a Google account or some other account, some people can only comment under the anonymous tab. Most people do add their name to show who they are. But obviously if you are a nasty, vitriolic troll you don't add your name as you are too much of a coward. Ilona - I don't often comment but I love your blog, it makes me laugh and you are a real inspiration. Quirky and unique sums you up and I mean that in the nicest possible way xxx

  11. I am saddened that you have been attacked, obviously the troll wasn't taught if you've nothing nice to say don't say anything at all. I have unfollowed her so am sure there a few less Dear Readers as a result, but where she gets off on this is beyond me (poor My Beautiful Lufe has totally disappeared after her trolling). Love the blig, keep you pecker up :)

  16. It may be time to remind this troll person that it is an offence to send written abuse & for you to consult your local police/solicitor re this stuff. There is no difficulty in providing proof.
A Good & Blest New Year to you Ilona & all creatures great & small........I look forward every day to your posting.

  17. Love the clips, I think I saw them on Facebook just before Christmas and was amazed at the patience all the crew had with getting these lovely non actor dogs (and puss) to play their parts. Absolutely brilliant.

As for your troll, do exactly as you're doing ... don't let her get you down. And if you going about your daily life and enjoying it and writing about it annoys her ... so much the better!!

All the very best to you and your furry family for the coming year. xx

  18. My gran always used to say that people who get at other in this way are saying what they really think about themselves. And that bullies always go for the strongest person in the school playground because that is the easiest way to quell the other 200. I think both these things apply to your poor, sick deluded troll.

If she wasn't getting at you she would only be getting at someone else. What an idiot to choose someone striong enough and confident enough not to give a toss. Stick with it girl!

  20. Have been reading here for ages but never commented before.
I agree totally with all the above
A troll is a jealous, greedy, self obsessed thing.
You have a life and we enjoy reading about and sharing it with you.

  23. Hi Ilona. You are great, and I look forward to your posts every day. I always hope that whenever I return to the uk, whenever that may be, I will bump into you!! I would say 'don't let the troll get you down' but there's no need, as I know she doesn't. I assume she's a 'she' and think I may know who it is, hope I'm wrong but just a sneaking suspicion. Thanks for a year of great posts, and wishing you all the best for a happy, healthy, frugal 2015! Susan

  27. Love the vid - thank you! I have read your blog for years and I am glad that you don't let the crazy people get you down. I did have an idea of who the troll was but I hoped I was wrong (though I stand by my comment about school holidays). Her spelling was particularly bad which is why I thought it was a kid. Lol. I wish you all the best for 2015. Take care, Debbie.

  29. I think Metta has a very good idea should the harassment continue. Anyone who sends hate-filled messages is not mentally right.

Love your blog and every post. Looking forward to reading your blog and learning from you in 2015.

  30. Dear Ilona, Great video, thanks for the laugh! Your blog is fun and often thought provoking; please keep up the good work in 2015! Anyone who spends their time concocting emails like the troll is very sad ...what a waste of a life.

  31. Hi Natalie. Sorry. If a comment is very long, the bottom gets cut off and I can't see all of it until it is published. I didn't go back and check after, so I missed your request not to publish. Sorry, my fault, done now.

  32. Thanks for the videos :-)

I really truly do not understand why someone feels it necessary to troll someone else's blog. If it is who I think it is then what does she think she is going to achieve? It makes no sense. I gave up reading her blog a long time ago as some of the things she posted did not "add up".

"Trolly Dolly" made me laugh :-))

  33. Hi Ilona, I'm up late with my baby and just catching up with my favourite blogs. If it is who I think it is I stopped reading ages ago as it was so repetitive. The best thing about your blog is that you are always doing something different and enjoying life and it is interesting. She is always not doing something if that makes sense. What is the point of saving money so hard if you are not going to reap the reward of freedom and variety. I think she destroyed another blogger I used to read, someone who was meant to be her friend, I really hope you don't even give it a second thought as so many love hearing about your adventures and enjoying how proactive you are. Happy New Year!

  37. Have been thinking about this since emailing you yesterday. I'm the gal who lives on a boat. I understand you don't do revenge but this person really needs stopping in their tracks especially if they are in a position of responsibility or authority. Bullying is unacceptable and someone who does this will turn a blind eye if they see it happening to others. I endured years of bullying at school and know the teachers denied it was happening and in some cases encouraged it. This led me to underachieve although later in life I proved I was more than capable. Please, please do not let this person continue doing this to you and others. I work in the NHS and have seen people disciplined and sacked for far less.
