The Queen speaks

Hello and a Merry Christmas to everyone. It's a dull day outside, but Tightwad Towers is a cozy home full of love. We don't care about the rain, we have everything we want, nice beds to sleep in, and good food for our bellies. I have spoken to family on the phone, and a visit is fixed up for the New Year. That will be nice.

I am relaxing today, listening to the radio, finding interesting stuff on yoootooob, eating, glass of wine,  reading, and generally chilling. I shall be out later for my fast walk, now done 54 miles this month. Yippeeeeee.

I'll leave you with this Christmas message. Thank you for popping in. Catch up soon. Toodle pip

  3. Happy Christmas to you all. My Christmas was not much difference to yours. We had an enjoyable dinner with a glass of wine watched the Queens speech and now it is all over. No presents, No decorations, No debt. As long as everyone is warm and well fed we are all happy. Enjoy the new year x

  4. Happy Christmas Ilona. You have such a sweet little dog. Glad you are having a good day. I don't think you are mean. You are wise and careful with what you buy. Did you have any luck with bargains on Christmas Eve?

    1. Sandy, I"m also in the U.S. it took me a while to figure out that "mean" means "thrifty". It's not the same as we think of it here in the U.S. where it just means "unkind". Hope that helps!

  7. Merry Christmas from across the pond! Have been a long time follower. My husband watched your video with me this morning and said "thats it you have got to send her a comment so he set me up to do so!" Love to read you. You are an excellent blogger and we have so many things in common. I too am frugal, love yellow sticker shopping (Woo-hoo special) and love my 2 dogs. I also sew, craft and you inspire me to get walking again. Christmas here is VERY rainy and warm. Lots of bad storms here in the southern US. Blessed we missed the bad stuff. Well, have a wonderful day!

    1. I also got choked up seeing Rocky and seeing how much love and trust there is between you. I also have a little dog about his size. She is only 2 and still quite naughty, but she lights up my life. I cuddle and kiss her like you do rocky. In a world that seems mad sometimes, they show us what pure innocent love looks like. I also thank you for your friendship. I don't think I have ever read another blog where I feel so connected to the blogger and like I could just hang out with you anytime and have a blast! 34. Of the 2 Queens' Speeches yesterday I opted to watch yours. That other woman from the big house will have to wait!

Loved your 'Coat of Many Coloura' shirt. And Rocky is definitely star material.
We had a quiet but enjoyable Christmas here in trainee Tightwad tower. 3 cats and me. I find myself telling lies as Christmas saying that I'm spending the day with friends. I used to tell the truth that I would be on my own but got fed up with that 'look' people give you. I have a great time on my own, eating whatever I want, playing chase the tinsel with the felines, following favourite tv progs an hour behind on iplayer and not spending money - Bliss!

  35. Boxing Day now, Ilona, and just had a look and listen to your recording ... it was lovely to see and hear you and to see Rocky, too. Yes, thank you, we had a lovely day here with our family and had a great turkey dinner (I cooked the turkey the day before so that it wouldn't hog - pardon the pun - oven all morning when I needed to cook the other things.) Husband prepped all the veg the day before, too, and popped it all into poly bags and put it in the fridge, so Christmas Day was really easy-peasy. I enjoy your tight-wad posts, they're fun as well as teaching us all how to be more frugal in order to save money for the things we really do want and/or need.
Have a lovely Boxing Day with Rocky, and here's to a great 2016.
