Hello. Poor Heidi has not been very well again, so it was a visit to the vet today. It's the same recurring problem with her red blood cells, they are not reproducing as they should and she is anaemic, resulting in tiredness. There is no cure for it, all we can do is blood tests, and medicate, and monitor it. The vet said she will have a much shorter life, it's not possible at this stage to put a time on it.
She has had an injection and I have to give her a tablet every day, and we'll see how it goes. Poor little Heidi, such a sweet little thing, so affectionate, it's such a shame.
I'll make this a short one tonight, don't much feel like writing.
Thanks for popping in. Catch up soon. toodle pip.
I'm so sorry for you both as I had thought there might be a remedy...I hope the tablets help and that she can be comfortable. Best to you.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about Heidi..... it is very hard when our precious pet friends are unwell. They are much loved family members....Jo
ReplyDeleteIlona, I am so, so sorry to hear about sweet Heidi. I have followed your reports over the past few months. I hope that she will be comfortable as long as possible. (((Hugs)))

Really sorry to hear this Ilona. Always so hard when one of your furry family is ill and there is effective treatment available. I know you will do your best for Heidi as you do with all your family. So sad when their life is shorter than it should be. Thinking of you. Kristel
ReplyDeleteShe is having the best care and best life she could have with you no matter how long or short it is. Much love and hugs to you both. Xx
ReplyDeleteShe's lovely, Ilona and so are you for loving her so much. It's awfully sad that pets live a relatively short time compared to us. Recently two friends (who don't know one another) have confided in me that losing their dogs was worse than losing a parent.
ReplyDeleteShe will be taken care of and loved until the end of her natural life and that is, in itself, a wonderful thing. I do understand how you feel.

Sorry to hear about Heidi, I know you will give her the best love and care possible x
ReplyDeletePoor little Heidi. But she's a lucky little cat to have such care and love, so many animals don't. I'm thinking of you both. xx
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your beautiful little girl, Ilona. No words can help when our babies are poorly.
ReplyDeleteSending love to you and precious little Heidi.

Poor little Heidi. I hope her medicine will help her as much as your loving care.
ReplyDeleteHugs to both of you...may the vet figure out what is causing this and hopefully there is a simple cure.
ReplyDeleteShe is a lovely little beast, and you are a beautiful person for caring for her so well. I know how hard it I also know that Heidi is very lucky to have picked you with whom to spend here.
ReplyDeleteHi Ilona,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear the news about Heidi but even though her life might be somewhat shortened by this disease, I'm sure it couldn't be a happier one in your care.
Give her a hug and cuddle from me, another cat lover.
Gail :)
Really sorry to here this Ilona its so sad when our pets are really ill. Just remember you have given her the best life you can and she is happy in your care and has everything for her comfort. Hugs xxx Sally x
ReplyDeleteSo sorry. Hope the medicine perks her up a little. Sending hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteOh poor Heidi - hope the tablets make her feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about Heidi, but I know you will make the rest of her life as comfortable for her as possible and when the time comes, you'll make the right decisions. (((HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteHaving an ill pet is heart-breaking. Hope she gets better, and am sure she's getting the best loving care.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for Heidi, such a shame. I'm off to vets again today with our cat who has a chronic skin condition for which there isn't a cure - only steroid injections. Something linked to her immune system. Sending best wishes your way. X
ReplyDeleteA big hug to Heidi and you. Natalie
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for you and Heidi but keep going. you are a smashing mum and she knows she's well loved. She couldn't be in a better home. My love to you all. Wandaxx
ReplyDeleteHeart breaking news for you, but Heidi is loved and cared - unlike to poor abandoned felines we often see along the Mediterranean.
ReplyDeleteSo glad she has you to love and care for her. Her life is a happy one I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteSorry to read the news on Heidi but at least she has a comfortable home and a very caring mistress. Hope she is not in any pain.

ReplyDeleteSuch a good mommy for this fur babygirl. She has been loved and pampered since you took her (and her babies) into your home. And, I know, she will continue to get the absolute best from you.
