Hello, a quickie tonight, I am falling asleep. I went to the Art Gallery with a couple of friends to the preview of the Open Exhibition. My one picture which was accepted. Sadly I did not win a prize.
It was great chatting to some of the other artists. I met two people who did not have any pictures accepted, so I suppose I was lucky to get one in. I saw a few people I know, Michael Scrimshaw was there, he is the chappie with the dreadlocks who I go to see at the Ropewalk Open studios every September. The exhibition is on until February.Heidi had her checkup this morning, the vet was pleased with her blood results. I suggested that we reduce her medication slightly, and Marion said that would be a good idea. So instead of having a full tablet every day, she will have one every alternate day, and half a tablet on the other days. I will monitor her behaviour to make sure she does not become tired.
It's bed time so I'll say goodnight. We'll catch up soon. Have a nice weekend.
Toodle pip.
Well done on getting the picture accepted Ilona
ReplyDeleteI like the hand shadow of a bunny rabbit you are making on the wall.
ReplyDeleteArtists spot art everywhere, John.
DeleteYay for you! I'm not an artist, but i'm married to one. It's always a thrill when he gets some recognition. You must be so excited!
ReplyDeleteGood news about the kitty and you had a lovely time and deserve to get in. Congratulations!
ReplyDeletei would have given you a prize. It is a beautiful artwork. Surely you will have all sorts of enquiries from people wanting to buy it.
ReplyDeleteYou never know, Margaret. It's a bit pricey :o)
DeleteYour artwork is lovely. Sorry you didn't win. I have entered into art shows and won a few ribbons. Other times nothing. It depends on the judges and their tastes. Hope you had a good sleep. I'm tired and need to go to sleep as well. It's been a long but good day. Happy weekend!!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting, being an exhibited artist!
ReplyDeleteJane
Well done. You look very modern too, if I may say. Natalie
ReplyDeleteThank you. Proudly showing off my £1 jacket from the charity shop. The friend who came with me was also wearing a £1 jacket, we shop in the same charity shop, ha ha.
DeleteYour art looks amazing Ilona...and so imaginative.
ReplyDeleteWell done on getting into the exhibition.

Love the picture. You're so talented. Really glad Heidi's okay and her medication is being reduced.
ReplyDeleteWow, Ilona-what a fantastic thing to happen. You are an artist because you create something beautiful from waste materials. You are looking very smart in your upcycled jacket. Catriona
ReplyDeleteYour picture looks lovely and so do you, love the jacket.
ReplyDeleteYour picture is stunning! You are looking very smart as well, just goes to show what can be created with stuff others discard. Congratulations, I would have awarded you a prize.
ReplyDeleteYour artwork is fabulous, I love the jacket you look great.
ReplyDeleteMy husband is 59 and they offered him the same deal, take the lump sum, but basically 6 years of payments was equal to the pay off so do the math one does hope to live longer than 65. They know what they're doing or they wouldn't offer it. I do like your collage and the photo of you.
ReplyDeleteGreat art, super photo of you and, like everyone else, I love the jacket on you! JanF
ReplyDeleteLove your art work. Also, love the jacket!!. Wow that's a great find for a £1. Really suits you.
ReplyDeletewell done.
ReplyDeleteI do admire your artistic abilities! Beautiful hanging. About eating out - I am careful where I eat and don't do it often but I have had some lovely meals and come away with new ideas for my own menus. Try to think of it as a monthly adventure, do some research to find really good places to try (maybe on a trip) and then go at a non-busy time. I find that so much more relaxing as it is quiet and the staff isn't rushed. You do eat well but this could be fun!!
ReplyDeleteReally pleased for you Ilona - well done. Kristel
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your work exhibited - congratulations on achieving this . Kristel
ReplyDeleteI really like your wall hanging/art piece. The background is especially nice. Also congrats on being accepted into the show. I'm not as brave, and never show my work except to those who venture inside my house. You inspire me with your art & walking!
