Hello. I appear to have a small fan base on yooootooob, messages have come through that they want more videos. Bless their little cotton socks.
So just to put a smile on their faces here is another of my money saving pearls of wisdom tips. I think you will be impressed by my efforts.
If my popularity continues to escalate I can see me having to hire in a professional camera man, with all the right equipment. A tripod would be handy, and a little bit of direction so that I stay within shot would be good. I can't be on both sides of the camera at the same time.
I did two circuits of my walk today, another six miles to make 80 so far this month. I have 66 names on the Walking Group list which I will be publishing at the end of the month, so if you are on it, get out there and put your best foot forward. I want to see some numbers on the 1st of February, don't let me down.
Thanks for popping in, we'll catch up soon.

I have an inkling that you will have re-used the floor water too! Good for you. Hope your Youtube channel does well.
ReplyDeleteWell done Ilona. Here the mopping up water is then put on the lawn to help keep it green. I love your video.
ReplyDeleteI love your down to earth approach, the video made me smile. surprised Heidi didn't join in!
ReplyDeleteisn't it bad for your knees
ReplyDeleteDon't be daft.
DeleteYou have such fun doing your housework! JanF
ReplyDeleteRe previous post on microwaves: I make a perfect poached egg by dropping one into a mug of boiling water (half full) and microwaving for 40 seconds. The idea came from The Guardian online.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, do you have the water swirling whirlpool style? JanF
DeleteI do believe that those who mop their floors on their hands and knees do have the cleanest floors, but getting back up can sometimes be a problem, LOL. It's a good tip and can certainly save water.
ReplyDeleteHi Ilona... I checked out the show Heartbeat that you recommended. Did you know there are 3 heartbeat series. I saw the ones from you and started looking into the others. The second series is about the same. local cops in small village. The other is about a hospital and the doctors. Quite interesting. I like these kind of shows. Always looking for more. Thanks
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work on the video's!
Sue
Hi. Thank you, that's very kind of you. I think I could probably source one here very cheap, so to save you the cost of posting, I would be chuffed if you could donate yours to your local thrift store. xxx
ReplyDeleteI do the same with my hand washing water, which has a small amount of wash powder in it.
ReplyDeleteAudrey - 25th January 2017. yes please more videos. I make my milky coffee in the microwave. Fill a cup two thirds full put in microwave on high for 1.40 seconds and it is then ready to add coffee and sugar. Never had any explosions or spillages. Love your blog - read it every day.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, It's impossible to see the dirt on the floor from a standing position. I have been a floor scrubber for at least 45 years and owe my flexibility to this simple exercise. I do use a folded towel under the knees now.I have tried the various mops but they are useless as they leave dirty edges and corners.
ReplyDeleteThank you, exactly right. I think that mops are rubbish on kitchen floors. Makes a dirty mark along the bottoms of the cupboards, does not clean into the corners, and leaves a sopping wet floor because you can't squeeze all the water out in the mop bucket.
DeleteBefore washing the floor I also think you cleaned the sink and draining board as that looked shiny; as to the comment 'won't it hurt your knees cleaning a floor', of course not - you're fit and healthy, someone else mentioned if needed using a towel to kneel on. We're not talking Victorian times when some servants got 'housemaids' knee' scrubbing floors for hours on end. As usual, interesting post. Amanda
