Hello. It's been a bit colder today. After the morning Bailey dog walk I decided to stay indoors and get on with some more stitching. Here are some closeups of the Woodland picture so far. Adding a few french knot flowers, still more to do. It's been a lovely relaxing afternoon.
While I've been doing this I've been watching/listening to yoootooob videos, mainly Cream, documentaries about the band members as well as the music. I'm reading Eric Clapton's autobiography at the moment and it's given me an appetite to find out more about his work.
Haven't been shopping this week, can't be bothered, don't need anything. My dinner tonight was this packet of pasta, about 43p I think, from Aldi. I added some frozen peas and a chunk of frozen spinach. It was really nice. I don't normally buy packet pasta like this, but I thought it would save time if the sauce was already in it. Easy to make in one pan. I think it's supposed to be two portions if you serve it with something else, but I scoffed the lot.
It's the weekend. I have got nothing special planned, depends on the weather. More sewing if it's cold and windy. I want to get the picture finished.
Thanks for popping in, we'll catch up soon.
Toodle pip.
Just noticed. This post is number 3000
Congratulations on your 3000th post, a lot of water has flowed under the bridge since your 1st. I like what I can see from the snippets of your picture. Looking forward to seeing the complete thing.
ReplyDeleteEric Clapton and Cream were my husband's 'heroes' when he was younger and has all of Creams LPs. He went to see them at Portsmouth when they were first starting out. Enjoy the book, I thought it was very sad the way his son died.

I admit I have the greatest desire to see the finished picture. The snippets look amazing, the colors too. How fantastic to have such creative talents! Sheri
ReplyDeleteWow! Congratulations on 3000!!!
ReplyDeleteI've finally started doing some hand sewing again; it was always one of my favorite things. French knots are not my best stitch. You are a marksman!
When I eat one of those packages, I put a bit of chicken in it. Since I am allergic to peas and cooked spinach, I add green beans from a can. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteReally, doctor says I am allergic to peas. I love spinach but it kills me.
Love your stitches!
Enjoyed your post!
ReplyDeleteWow, 3000 posts! I´ve started reading through your archives, so I´m up to a lot of fun and interesting reading.
ReplyDeleteAnd your picture looks wonderful. I can´t wait to see the whole thing.
Congratulations on post 3,000. You're about 500 ahead of me. Look out tomorrow. I'll be mentioning you in a post. Loving those needlework skills as always. Take care. xx
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful art work Ilona, and well done with 3000 posts
ReplyDeletePost number 3000 - good grief, that is some achievement. Keep going. I like Eric Clapton's music; he certainly has had a very colourful life and as Joan (Wales) said his small son's death was just tragic. The pasta was a good find; I like pasta for a change it's easy to cook, filling and you can really add just about anything to it. Amanda
ReplyDeleteWow! I love your woodland pictures. I used to do old style embroidery years ago, tablecloths, tray cloth etc, but there's no need for those today. Would love to know how you're creating the woodland scenes. Are they for framed pics or being used for something else. How did you learn this? Would love to have a go and would appreciate your help. Thank you. Love your blog.
ReplyDeleteLove the bark on your woodland picture, Ilona. Susan (wife of Edward).
ReplyDeleteYour stitching is beautiful! I love the variety of colors and textures. Really looking forward to seeing the finished work.
ReplyDeleteWow, your woodland embroidery looks amazing ... great to see the close up detail. Simply lovely.

ReplyDeleteI can honestly say that I've never heard of Cream. Natalie
ReplyDeleteI think the title music for Absolutely Fabulous with Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley 'Wheels of fire'' was Creams song ?
ReplyDeleteSorry Natalie, I've just googled it,and I'm complelly wrong with what I wrote.Bob Dylan wrote it .But Cream did have an album called Wheels of Fire.I'm more of an old disco girl !
DeleteLove the embroidery ....looks really pretty!
ReplyDeletethat stitching looks fabulous Ilona. need to do some more myself. going to have similar pasta tonight for our tea, probably with a bit of salmon thrown in, we use it on cycle touring trips too.
ReplyDelete3,000 posts, that's quite an achievement. Well done, Karen.
ReplyDeleteHello Ilona,
ReplyDeleteYour mention of Cream has reminded me of a weird musical film which was shown last year. It was called 'Gonks Go Beat' from 1965. There's a song called 'Harmonica' performed by the Graham Bond Organisation. A very young looking Ginger Baker on drums of course and, I believe, Jack Bruce playing guitar and harmonica.

Having nothing planned for the weekend sounds bliss. I would love a whole free weekend. The joy of unplanned time is very underrated, I think! I like the knotty flowers...very effective.
ReplyDeleteCould you explain how you make the picture? Do you draw the picture on the fabric first? If you could describe the process in one post that would be great.
