Rocky was a huge part of your life as all your beloved furry family are. I can imagine how much you must miss him and hope that one day another dog will find his or her way into your life. Take care on this sad and difficult day. Kristel
what a gorgeous face - you'll never forget it! Although i don't have a dog (yet?!), as a cat-owner I feel so privelaged to be able to provide home, food and care for my lovely brood of 3. It's a special relationship we have with our pets.
You must miss him Ilona - it is heartbreaking not to see them every day.I'm sure our precious darlings are still very close by.I miss my Queenie and I always told her she was the daughter I never had. It's been 3 years now and I wish I could see her physically but she still feels here to me.Also her brother Prince,Herbie and Rex-they are my family.Rocky is gorgeous -you both will have a bond forever x x
Rocky was a little darling. I can't believe it's a year already though! You will always have wonderful memories of the happy times with him. P.S. At long last we have a hedgehog (maybe more?) in our garden. I had to ring the sanctuary that I got to know about via your blog for a bit of advice. Strangely our little visitor was wandering about the garden in hot sun - which alarmed me as I thought they were nocturnal. Anyway the lovely lady said I'd done the right thing by placing it in a box, with a fleece and water and seeing as it looked/seemed healthy I'm releasing it back into the garden tonight. Thanks for writing about this rescue - I could've got there if necessary - maybe 50 miles away - but I'll see how we go. She said they'd had 2 in today, both dehydrated and both died :(
Oh that year went by so quickly. He was so loved by you and loved you so much in return. You gave the last part of his life, love, excitement and adventure, I'm so pleased he became your companion for the final part of his life.
I feel your pain, I feel it every time I look for Rosy's little face and see only the other two cuddled together where once there was three.
Understand completely, how one keeps these friends in our hearts and life, years after they have passed on. Our pup has been gone years, and we still "talk about him".
I can't believe it's already been a whole year. I cried with you then and I am crying now. I lost my baby kitty 8 years ago after having him for 18 years, and it still hurts! I live in the U.S. And have been reading your blog for years now. Thank you for all you do. I have learned a lot from you. And I was excited to see you on " Shed of the Year". I kept telling m husband " I know that woman". And to hug George Clarke....WOW!!!!!!! I'll bet he smells good, does he? Anyway, just wanted to let you know I am out here and keeping up with you and I miss Rocky too. Ang in America🇺🇸
What a beautiful boy. It breaks my heart when I lose one of my fur babies, I feel your sadness. No longer in our arms but always in our hearts and minds. We love them so much, and they love us too. Jean.
Ilona,i feel your pain, its awful when a pet dies...but always remember, you gave Rocky the best years of his life. You took away his pain, from living a awful life and gave him food, walks, freedom and a love that he never had before. And Rocky loved you.So i know its hard...ive been there...but think of the happy times, when he is running towards you and looking at you with that love in his eyes that dogs do when they love their owners.Love to you,Debi,Leic,x
Good to hear that you got through the day and by helping other animals. That says it all.Rocky was a very beautiful boy,you were lucky to have him in your life and he was lucky that you cared enough to go to such lengths for him.I know you will always miss him but love like that doesn't end when you have to say goodbye. He'll always be with you,in your heart.I bet there are times when you feel his presence trotting along with you on your walking adventures.Such love makes this world a better place.X.
We never forget, take care. Leisa (Australia)

ReplyDeleteI am reminded of the wonderful life you shared with Rocky after his unhappy early life. You clearly brought him as much joy as he brought you.
