Here I am, back in circulation. I must say, the break was very nice, takes the pressure off when struggling to think about something to write every day. It's given me time to re evaluate the blog, reflect on the past, and work out where I want to go next. I will be reducing the amount of days I post. I said that once before and slipped back into my old ways, but this time I mean it. I won't be posting if I have nothing to say, makes sense to me.
Yesterday I had a day out with the relatives in Nottingham. My cousin cooks a smashing meal, she made me a lovely nut roast. There was a lot left over so I rescued it and brought it home before it was binned. This was my lunch today, tasty roasted vegetables.
A present from Aunty. Looking forward to trying these five flavours of relish with my cheese and crackers.A quick peek at the new artwork. It will be a felt wall hanging. I had planned on using the felt spirals on this, but now I'm not so sure. I'll see how it pans out.
I took Heidi to the vet this morning, she has not been too well. He had a good look over her, she has lost a bit of weight, due to the sickness she has had. I booked the appointment last week, but she hasn't been sick at all for the last four days. Anyway, we have a new supply of her usual tablets, and some liquid I have to squirt on her food which will stop it coming back up. Fingers crossed it will do the trick. As soon as we got back into the house she went straight to the food bowl.
That's it for now. Toodle pip. ilona
Blog when you feel like it, sorry to hear about Heidi hope she recovers well.
ReplyDeleteI love roasted veg, hope you enjoy the relishes. x
Heidi seemed to have a burst of energy when we got home. She was keen to scoff a bowl of food.
DeleteTha'ts great.x
DeleteNice to see you back Ilona. I know exactly what you mean, I'm the same with Messenger, if there's nothing to post except what the weather's doing then take a day off!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I will be having some days off. I am bored with posting the same old same old.
DeleteIt is lovely that you are back.Ive missed you!!.But I do understand if you need a break from it now and again...although whatever you write,I always find it interesting!Thing is,when I havent seen you about for a few days,I turn into your mother and start worrying about you, lol.Google having Life after Money typed into it about 10 times a day..only joking, its maybe only 9 times, lol.Anyway,Im pleased that you had a lovely day visiting your relatives and great that no food went to waste. Those cheeses look nice.Ive never seen them different flavours in the round boxes.Hope that Heidi is on the mend. They are such a worry when they seem off.My Filbert had a big abcess come up on the side of his face one night last week but by the morning it had burst...Hope that none of you are eating your tea while reading that!.Within a day it was all cleared up so he is all back to normal now.It sounds like Heidi is on the mend too thankfully.xx
ReplyDeleteIt's a box of relishes in jars, to be eaten with cheese, mother, ha ha.
DeleteI have reread your post and see what you mean...the relishes still sound very nice though...and make sure that you are home by 9pm...or you are grounded, lol.xx
DeleteI was home by nine tonight. I did my walk, 8 till 9, mother.
DeletePleased Heidi is ok she is so pretty very much like my sweet little Amy. Your mealI looks delicious and very healthy. Amy and Benny stay in if the weather is cold and wet eating grooming and lying by my chair. I Enjoy your blog. Have a lovely week. Love Liz Amy and Benny.xxxxx
ReplyDeleteMy fur balls are indoors most of the time at the moment, apart from Oscar that is. He is semi feral and prefers the outdoors.
DeleteI think I mean fur babies, ha ha.
DeletePleased you are back I thought you might have been unwell, and I hope Heidi is okay.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a nice day here but very cold but then it is January.
Hazel c uk
No, I am fine, Hazel. Can't remember the last time I was unwell.
DeleteI'm very happy that you are back Ilona.I feel there's a gap in my life when your not here.I need to be reminded of another way to live my life.Enjoy your time out though Ilona-you do deserve it-looks like you have.Heidi rushing to her food sounds promising. My little teddy has a reddish ear and although he's not shaking his head or rubbing it and I've used his cleaner I may have to go to the vets also.as He has had this problem before as he has long hair x
DeleteIt sounds like you had a lovely time. I hope Heidi gains her weight back quickly. Happy New Year to you and the animals!
ReplyDeleteYes it was nice to see my Aunty and cousins again. It's only a once a year thing around this time.
DeleteGlad you're back. Had started to worry you might be unwell. Re the posting, you MUST put your inclinations first. Yes we your readers love and look forward to your posts, insights, travels, and more, but I do often feel we are being selfish. Please know, I (and likely others) will continue to enjoy and relish when you do post, and completely support your choices. (well, without too much whining..grin). All good, and hugs.
ReplyDelete(looks like lovely leftovers. Glad you rescued them.)
Yes, I have always said that if I didn't enjoy doing something I would stop doing it. In the case of blogging, just like my lorry driving, I will not stop altogether, but cut back. Must give the trolls something to moan about or they will cry.
DeleteHope those trolls do cry Ilonaπππππππ
DeleteThe meal looks delish. I hope poor Heidi gets better very soon. It was promising that she headed to the food bowl.
ReplyDeleteThat large lunch meant that I only had room for a cheese and salad sandwich later for my dinner. It was nice to have roasted vegetables because I don't do them. My breath was very garlicky after though, ha ha.
DeleteIlona, you are such a sensible person. I agree with what you say, I always check and if you are not around I come back another day. Hope Heidi recovers soon, always a worry with a beloved pet. Have a great day. x
ReplyDeleteThank you. I do not systematically go to the same blogs every day. I have a quick look in if I have time.
DeleteI remember taking the train from London to Nottingham...our friends had a mushroom farm in a quonset hut...going in it seemed like miles of mushrooms growing in trays on shelves!
ReplyDeletethe food looks nice, glad to see you back to blogging and thanks for the advice, much appreciated, it reminds me of buses, always another one along in a minute :-) Jo
ReplyDeleteLovely to have you back. The different chutneys sound delish, enjoy.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back and that Heidi is better. I like the artwork. I can't wait to see it finished. I think too it is probably a good idea not to post so much. I have no idea how anyone keeps up such a big task. I will read no matter how often. I am just glad you are back. Happy New Year.
