Not a lot to talk about today, so if news is a bit thin on the ground, fill the space with food. Yesterdays dinner. The cheese and onion pasty has had a few bites taken out of it because I took it with me when I went for a walk. Too much to eat all in one go, so save some of it for dinner. Left over steamed veg from the night before, rocket and shop bought potato salad, and pickled beetroot.
Lunch today was three cheese and onion croquets from the chiller cabinet in Aldi. I haven't had these before but thought worth a try. They were quite nice. the instructions say oven bake them, but I put them under a low grill. I opened a tin of mixed beans and warmed half of them in the microwave.
Tonight I wasn't very hungry so I had a cheese sandwich with a dollop of houmous on it. Then an hour later I opened a tin of rice pudding, warmed half of it in the microwave.
I took Billy out in between showers, we called in to see his best friend Maisie, and the two of them were running around the back garden chasing balls, having a whale of a time.
Now I'm going out for my late village walk. I don't need to do it because my miles are well up, but I feel I want to do it. So off I go.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip. ilona
No walk for me today torrential rain.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope it's a better day today. I know how important it is to get outside, even for a short time.
DeleteMy kind of food, Ilona...most definitely. Love, Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteI am not going to stand in the kitchen for ages cooking a meal. From fridge to plate suits me fine.
DeleteIt was a mixed bag of weather in Leicester yesterday as well...although today,7.30.am the sun is shining...for now!.I ended up making bows to put on the handles of my shopping bags yesterday with my old dress material,so that cheered me up a bit!.All Ive got to look forward to today,is mopping the floors downstairs and sorting through a cupboard...dont you envy my exciting life, lol.Your food photos look lovely as always and I bet Billy and Maisie had a great time!.I would loved to have watched them.On a serious note..I saw the neighbours who all have Covid 19 going about their buisness at the weekend...thinking that they were over it now.I shouted to them from my window yesterday to ask how they were feeling and it seems that they are still testing positive after 3 weeks, but because they are feeling better think that it is ok to go out and about now!!They are due another test at the end of this week. The dad of the family has gone grey and his arms are yellow/orangey colour.God knows how many more people they have infected. No wonder Leicester is still in lockdown.xx
ReplyDeleteThe situation with the neighbours sounds horrendous. Keep your windows shut. When a few of them die they might wake up and change their ways.
DeleteI am trying to organise my routine to accommodate a walk each day, but I always seem to find other things to do! Start with a small ten minute walk, that is what I need to do, and I can hear you saying this!
ReplyDeleteHello Vera. A walk should be part of your routine, move it higher up your list of priorities. Look at each task you do on a daily basis, does everything you do need to be done every day? Can you do something every other day. Can you change the times that you do something, do it earlier, or later. Chuck out the bad habits and bring in some new good habits. Come on girl, your health should be your priority. Go for it.
