It's the weekend, here is a lovely video from Daniel. He bought a plot of land in Ireland and is turning it into a small holding. His aim is to be completely self sufficient. He lives in a mobile home, is renovating a cottage, built a wooden cabin, has animals as pets, and grows all his own food. He doesn't post videos that often, but everyone is a little gem.
I am busy in other places, fending off the trolls on my yoootooob channel :o)
Enjoy your weekend. Toodle pip. ilona
This is great! What a find!
ReplyDeleteI have been following him from the start of his journey, it's amazing how much progress he has made.
DeleteI also watch this chap. Just the sound of his voice is so relaxing and I love to watch his pets too. He's building himself a beautiful small holding.
ReplyDeleteYes, he has a lovely calming voice. I love his pet pigs.
DeleteWhat a delightful young man... with the right idea, in my book! Thanks for sharing his video. ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteI like the way he is focussed on what he wants for his future.
DeleteOh Ilona, Daniel is a delight! I love his message. Introverts aren't "shy," just selective. Perfect. Thanks for this video!
ReplyDeleteHe has a great outlook on life.
DeleteThat was a lovely video Ilona. Being an introvert myself it resonated with me. Hope you have managed to fend off the trolls on yoootooob! Have a good weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteI thought the same when I watched it. A lot of compassion from a young man.
DeleteEvening Ilona and everyone else. Yes i have watched Daniel's videos before and he is doing a great job and i wish him all the best with the cottage and the land. I know he has said he is behind with the cottage but i am sure he will get here in his own time. He is very inspiring. I love his channel name Mossy bottom if he still use that.
ReplyDeleteway to go Daniel x
Yes, it's still Mossy Bottom. He says there is no rush to get the cottage in order, he has the rest of his life to do it.
DeleteI have been following Mossy Bottom for a few years now. He has done a wonderful job fixing up the place. I was relieved when he built the wooden cottage. The historical cottage on the property looked like a challenge to me. Glad to find someone else who appreciates his joyfulness.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting watching his progress. The stone cottage is nothing more than a shell, but I am sure he will do it eventually.
DeleteThanks! I shall add him to my list of watches.
ReplyDeleteOn the you-tube comments - For some reason the trolls are even worse there than on blogs. Wonder if it is because you have to read for comprehension on a blog, where as, videos are visual and auditory? Blogs draw a higher-brow audience? Anyways, totally agree with your analysis of the situation and would like to see common sense become the norm again.
I seem to attract the same regular trolls on here. A pattern emerges so I have a good idea of what will trigger them off. Blogger makes it easier to moderate so their comments don't get to see the light of day. There is a much wider audience on yoootooob. They seem to think I am talking to them personally so I am considered fair game for anyone to throw a verbal punch at.
DeleteI was nodding along with him a ton. He figured it out at a younger age than I did. Don’t understand troll behavior, but I guess hurting people hurt others. I enjoy your blog - keep being you. P. S. I’m following your lead with portioning out the snacks and making them last.
ReplyDeleteI am hanging on in there, determined not to crack. Good luck.
DeleteI found this video the other day too - what a lovely guy, and a completely accurate description of what it's like to be an introvert (& dispelling a few myths too!)
ReplyDeleteLovely peaceful lifestyle. Reminded me of Yeats' poem "I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree" which is one my favorites.
ReplyDeleteWe Love Mossy Bottom ♥
