It was Christmas Eve twenty years ago. The first Christmas in my new house. It should have been our new house, it wasn't to be. He didn't turn up. I blew him out.
After shedding tons of tears, the very next day I dressed up. For me, not for him. I put a smile on my face, took a photo, and got on with my life.I hope you are having a lovely time wherever you are in the world. Merry Christmas to all my readers. Thank you all for being there. Lots of love, ilona xxx

Good job for going ahead in your life. 1989 Dec was 1st Christmas we were here in our house. 2 kids. 12/24 day I met my husband when we were serving in US Air force in UK now 44 years ago. Over a cheese ball at a party. That's my story. Have a nice Christmas in spite of sad story. Cheerio and enjoy a cup of tea.☕ or coffee. :)

ReplyDeleteBest wishes for 2021 Ilona. Sometimes things do work out for the better even though at the time it feels as if that broken heart will never mend. I think we can all relate. Take care of yourself.

DeleteWhat a beautiful picture! I just love how you are true to yourself and life every day to the fullest! May 2021 be good for you, here's to great health, and great adventure!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo! I believe that we shouldn't rely on other's to be happy. You have turned a horrible situation on its head and how you dealt with it is a great example to us all. x
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that but you have sure blossomed in the Years following. Did you buy the house jointly with him and if so how did you remove his name from the deed? I have been single for many years since I divorced an alcoholic and have done just fine on my own. I'm a strong woman and once I've had enough of something it's done and no changing my mind. I think men should realize that about women. I think when we are on our own for years we realize just how strong we are and that's a great feeling. Happy New Year to you Miss Ilona πΈ
ReplyDeleteAll my money. He came to view it with me, said he liked it. I moved in, and waited, he never came.
DeleteI have always asked God to show me who people really are. I think he did that for you at that time so you didn't waste any of your life π
ReplyDeleteSharon, don't assume I follow any religion, I don't.
