Good morning. In the absence of anything to write about, I have dug out a post which has been hanging around in the drafts folder for a month. Yoootooober Chrome has been pushing out videos almost daily for three years. He lives in his van, with his British Bulldog Cruz, based in Canada but sometimes ventures further afield.
In this episode he is on his way back from the USA after having some modifications done on his van. The scenery is fantastic, his positive outlook on the life he has chosen is very inspiring. Get a cuppa and enjoy one man and his dog.
Catch ya later. Toodle pip. ilona
We don't go to bed without our dose of Chrome and Cruz. He's almost a part of the family and I love the video's he makes. I had tears in my eyes when Disco died and the recent one was of him buying wood to raise his Mum's couch so that she could get into her wheel chair. I have you to thank for putting me onto this Ilona. We started at the beginning when he sold everything off and have gone through the lot up to the present.
ReplyDeleteI recommend it as a thoroughly lovely prog.

Thanks Briony. I missed the beginning, came into it about halfway through. Yes, I was also very sad when he lost Disco. I love the latest ones where he is helping other van lifers. The look on the old chaps face when Chrome had some clothing made for him. He is a thoroughly decent man, and the stunning scenery is a joy to see. I do worry though when he takes the van off road on dirt tracks. All those pot holes and bumps.
DeleteOh how I would love five acres. Half an acre would be fine but five acres.. Sighhhhh
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this, Ilona, I haven't seen him before. We lived in Ontario for a while in the '80s with our 2 children and they both loved it. The video brought back many happy memories of exploring the wilder areas and visiting the Pioneer Village. Lake Ontario was stunning. And huge! The video was truly relaxing, Chrome has such a lovely voice.
ReplyDeleteYes, Chrome is very confident in his narrative, you can tell he is a performer. He sometimes includes a short piece from his Disc Jockeying work.
DeleteWhat a great person he is .loved this video of his interesting travels.i could really imagine you doing this sort of thing Ilona when you go camping you always find lovley places to explore and why not if you can do it make the most of what's out there.i love the idea of van life getting to go out of your life in a house and live a different wayx
ReplyDeleteThis kind of life would suit the wanderlust in me, but I may have left it too late now. The lorry driving was a similar kind of lifestyle. Going out on a Monday and coming back on a Friday or Saturday. Only trouble was I had to go where I was told to. It was a good way to see places though.
DeleteHello ,

Hello and welcome. Please visit any time you like.
DeleteI too, follow Chrome and his videos every day, I so enjoy them and live vicarously through these blogs. I live in Kamloops which is about a 3 1/2 hour drive from Vancouver, B.C. and I'd like to just let you know that Chrome has never travelled in the U.S.A. When he had his upgrades done, it was across Canada in Ontario which is in Canada. I hope you join me in continuing to watch his videos and listen to his cheerful life message. I enjoy your blog also so keep up the good work and all the best for Christmas and the coming year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for putting me right on that. I thought he had crossed a border, I was mistaken. It was a long way.
DeleteGreat video, thank you! Hopefully this post will come through after months of trying ;)

I can hear you loud and clear. Best wishes.
DeleteThanks for posting this video it was my first time viewing him and i will be uploading more from youtube. I love peoples alternative lifestyle and the places they travel. He is a very positive and inspiring man x
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this so much! I got annoyed with myself when I wondered why doesn't he have reusable bags for grocery shopping? I bet he does but gets the grocery bags every now and then to have on hand for necessity purposes--cleaning up after potty breaks with Cruz or even trash from his travels . Beautiful scenery! Canada must be awesome.
