A walk in South Yorkshire.

Hello. I made this video on Sunday because I wanted to check the uploading time. A bit disappointed that it has take five hours to upload a ten minute video. Last week it took eight hours to upload a 20 minute video. This is all rather baffling. Is it because I am using a much better camera now. Or is it because my broadband is slow.
Anyway, it's only a bit of waffle. Got to take a dog out now. Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. We are very fortunate to have beautiful and sometimes wild and variegated countryside in the UK, with the freedom to roam. The older I get, the more I appreciate greenery over concrete. It's important to maintain access to country walks, but with that comes a responsibility to respect it by taking our litter home and controlling our dogs in case they attack livestock. I hate seeing litter or fly-tipping in lovely localities, or dog poo bags lying around or hanging on branches of trees where horses can eat them and become very ill or die. We are so privileged in this country, and I love it.

  2. It's probably your broadband speed, we have Virgin and the more expensive the package the quicker the upload speed. Also you may need to compress the file format. Not sure if this helps.

  3. Brilliant video again Ilona. That zoom is amazing!!.I really wish that I knew how to work something like that, but Im afraid that my mind would cut off if it is complicated, lol. How lovely to see the girl on the horse and I love the way she showed us a little gallop!.I love horses but I am always a bit afraid of them, since a donkey I was on,aged 5,escaped from the rest of them on Mablethorpe beach, lol.I love watching them in fields though!Beautiful animals.Your walk has took you through a lovely place.xx

  6. Ahhh broadband. I’ve been struggling with mine for ages. Turns out the contract is guaranteeing only a certain “wired” speed. Anything using the WiFi can be a much slower speed and they can get away with that. Apparently the maximum you can have is dependant on what the green box on your estate/area can support need to ask what that is instead of buying something super fast which is not supported in fact in your area. I bought a basic Ethernet cable from eBay and connected the modem to the computer directly and it has made a big difference to the speed of the internet. Also I thought the video quality was brilliant but I could hear the wind and I think there are attachments you can get to muffle the wind so that might be worth an ask if you’re speaking to the camera people anyway?

  7. Hi Ilona, most likely broadband is slow. Here in the Us, there is a company that offers free speed tests…sneakily called Speedtest.net. You go on their website and they run a test on your computer. I am sure there is a British equivalent. Hilogene in Az.
