Good morning. It's that time again, the first day of a new month when the members of the International Walking Group check in with their progress reports. With the first three months gone, how are you all doing. Have you reached the target of 250 miles? Or do you have your own targets and did you make it?
I am on 257 miles. The day on the canal was a good boost.
So let's hear it from you. Don't forget, it's your health that is at stake here. The more you move about in the open air the more your body will clear your head and nourish your brain.
Random photo from the archives. Knackered after doing a marathon, two sponsored walks back to back.
A cold and frosty start this morning. Looking good outside now at 9.22am, the sun has come out. Thanks for popping in, we'll catch up soon.Toodle pip. ilona.
You look sunburnt.
ReplyDeleteThe second one was a night walk, started at 10pm. I mostly ran it, that's why I am hot and sweaty.
DeleteHi good morning Ilona. Thank you for your positive coffee chat from yesterday. I am very pleased you had a good camping outing again.
ReplyDeleteMy results for march: 104 miles (due to the splendid weather). Makes it up to 291 miles for the first 3 months of this year. I am quite chuffed with myself (as you would say). Ha,ha, didn't know that expression.
We had 30 days of brilliant no rain March weather until yesterday when it started snowing. Oh well, the sun is shining and it is melting away. Have a good April fools day today and take care.
Hello guusje. And I am chuffed that you have kept up the pace. Well done.
DeleteGreat photo ilona💞

Hi Ilona,
ReplyDeleteSince March cycling is my new (almost) daily outdoor's activity and I pedalled away the great amount of 308 kilometres in what became a most beautiful month, weatherwise.
Cheers,
Jeanneke.
Hello Jeanneke. The March winds died down and now we have April showers. Keep up the good work on the bike.
DeleteGood morning! Much better this month - 52.5 miles, for a total of 75 since I started counting.
ReplyDeleteHello C. Looking good. Consistency is the key, and never giving up.
DeleteHello Ilona, I am currently on 211 miles. Not a bad effort but a few more would have been good. I think I will catch up over the summer though as I am planning to do a long distance route. Thanks for the check in it really helps with motivation!
ReplyDeleteHello Karen. That's a very good effort. Summer is a coming, get yourself out there.
Delete80 miles this month, so 253 total. Very pleased.
ReplyDeleteHello Budget Mum. Things are looking good for you. That's a smashing total.
DeleteHello Ilona and fellow walkers,
ReplyDeleteMarch was a good month - logged 105 miles which brings my year to date to 223.
This week brought an unusual week of weather - an EF3 tornado (we didn't get any damage but many in my town lost everything) followed by rain and snow the following day. March truly came in like a lamb and exited like a lion.
Looking forward to April.
Hello Kay. So glad that you survived the tornado. We have to pick our times to go for a walk, to avoid this crazy weather. Very good miles for you.
DeleteManaged to walk every day in March for a YTD total of 324 miles.
ReplyDeleteSheila in Idaho
Hello Sheila, you are a star.
Delete54.19 miles this month. Which is 10 more than last month!! So I’m feeling better about that. That makes my year total to 136.53. I would like to double March’s total in April. Let’s see what happens!! Great job everyone!!!
ReplyDeleteHello Tammy. I like your positive attitude. Go girl, you can do it.
DeleteHello Ilona and fellow walkers. Somehow missed posting last months total. Ah well, February I completed 163 kilometres and March total was 204, making 521 to date. Happy with progress.
ReplyDeleteI do not know where the time is going this year!! We are into Autumn here downunder, with its very unpredictable weather, currently blowing a gale with drizzle being blown horizontally, not very conducive to a nice walk, but I'm sure we will have some better weather soon. Keep well, happy, and most of all as active as you can everyone. Joy Central Vic Australia
Hello Joy. It seems strange to read about weather conditions in other parts of the world, when I am looking out at sunshine. Your numbers are fantastic.
DeleteNot missed a day yet this year, walking with my daughter, so above target at present. Overall, the weather is better here in Melbourne, Australia, so no snow, etc, to stop me.
ReplyDeleteHello KH. Both you and your daughter are benefitting from this. You are a good role model for her. She will appreciate the great outdoors as she grows up.
DeleteIn March I did 79 miles (228 in total) but tested positive a few days ago. I've managed to avoid it for two years but it seems to have finally found me. Now poorly at home so will have to see how fit I am afterwards.
ReplyDeleteHello Nick. Oh dear poor you. Start again when you feel like it. Build yourself up slowly. No rush, 9 months left to go.
DeleteHi Ilona and the walking group,
ReplyDeleteA bit delayed in updating but here it is :) Weather in the Arizona desert is fantastic so I am trying for multiple shorter walks per day (due to an older dog and a bum knee right now). March miles = 64. Year to date 181. Hope everyone has a good April. It is really good to see everyone's updates from around the world. Thank you Ilona for keeping us on track!
Hello Hilly. Thank you for checking in, it's great to hear from you. I am imagining you walking through sand.
DeleteLate entry here, I've been super busy with houseguests and no computer! My walking miles for March were 81, which I'm happy with because I missed several days of walking. Total so far is 222.
ReplyDeleteHello Leslie. The beauty of the walking challenge is that it can be done at any time. You can take days off if you are busy with other things.
DeleteA bit late checking in here also, as I've been away over the weekend. 143 for me last month, for a total of 421. Spring has sprung (I hope) so better walking weather. Though less time for it as life starts to bustle again!
ReplyDeleteHello Allison. That's a fantastic total. Keep up the good work.
