Getting on the right path

What a change from yesterday. It was sunny with blue skies, and no wind, perfect for a walk. Today it is cold and hasn't stopped raining. Billy will be waiting to go out. I hope the rain stops soon.
This is me giving a short motivational talk. Change the direction of your life. Move from a not so good path, to a much better path.
I put out a post earlier but after some negative comments, I deleted it. You can still see it. I put a shortened version over on the Linkys page.
I've just remembered, I have to start paying my Council Tax now. The first payment is due by the 1st of April. I shall go to the Post Office tomorrow and make the payment. The first three months of the year have gone very quickly. While I am doing that I will take a letter with me which I received from the Council today. The letter says I am eligible to receive a household support payment of £100. The Post Office can scan the bar code on the letter and hand me the cash. I don't need it so I have earmarked it for a charitable donation.
Still waiting for the rain to stop. We might have to make do with a shorter walk, even if it just eases off a bit. I will get on with a needle felted small picture I am making.
See ya soon. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. Thank you for this cheery post, Ilona. I appreciate your metaphor of changing tracks to another field where it's easier to walk. It's so easy for me to get into a downward spiral of angst with what is happening in our world. Your encouragement to change my focus on to more positive thoughts is a breath of fresh air. Thank You. Happy Spring and best wishes for sunny days to get outdoors.

    1. Hello Margaret. It's easy to sink into the depths of doom and gloom, but it's not impossible to crawl your way out of it. Always make time for yourself. Every so often switch off all electronic devices. Take yourself away from the temptation of a screen. Get involved in some kind of physical activities, or go back to the old ways of reading a book, handicrafts, or cooking a nice meal. Celebrate the fact that you have choices.

  2. Over here in California I pay a property tax twice a year, is that what a Council tax is? I hope they use it wisely, here they throw away a lot of my tax money on worthless things. Road maintenance, police and fire protection, libraries, now those are good programs.

    1. Our Council Tax is for the upkeep of local services as supplied by the Council. Bin collections, libraries, filling in potholes, some of it goes towards policing. They send us a letter once a year to tell us what they are going to spend our money on.

  3. You keep predicting doom and gloom.
It’s not going to happen .
Without realising it you have been
“nudged “ by social media into believing
    utter nonsense.

    1. You have your opinions, I have mine. I look to the future, not to next week or next month. I am not nudging anybody, and it isn't utter nonsense. The people on the ground, those who are in the thick of it, on the front lines, are the ones who have worked it out. You can go along with the Government if you so wish. They have their agenda as dictated to them. Everything that has been predicted by the Alternative Media has and will come true. The only way to stop this utter madness is to work out the lies that have been fed to us, and choose to take a different path.
