The grand entrance to Yarndale

I was able to take these photo's early in the morning before the visitors arrived. What an entrance. As soon as you walk in the excitement builds up. You know it will be something spectacular.
Look up at the thousands of hanging bunting flags forming a tent like appearance.

Spectacular mandalas suspended high above to give the impression of a false ceiling.

Security staff getting briefed on their days duties. It's all very professionally organised. Events companies bring in their staff from all parts of the UK.
How cute are these sheep.

Lots of goodies to buy. It was £20 to get in, but the souvenir brochure is very substantial, with lots of information on all the traders taking part.
This is a photo I took when it was very busy. Lots of heads in the way.
If this has whetted your appetite for more woolly inspiration, come back for a look inside the main hall.

Thanks for popping in. See ya soon. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. Tam and I would enjoy that - bit too far from here though. I thought the sheep were a great idea - so colourful, as was everything. We are fortunate to have Wonderwool on our doorstep though (2 miles down the hill on the Royal Welsh Showground) so I shan't complain. Looks like you had a great time.

    1. I see events advertised in other parts of the country and wish I could go there. Sadly too far away. I think it's enough to support local-ish events in the hope that they can keep going for future generations. Preserving our way of life is important. And I had a great time.

  2. Just simply amazing. I am just amazed when I think of all the hours that have been put into the decorations. Those wearing their creations are amazing.

    1. The idea is to get a lot of local people to create together, in groups, and clubs, and charities. It's an annual event that everyone looks forward to.

    1. I made one mistake. I should have done Sunday at the show, and Monday walking in the hills. Too many people. Otherwise a great two days in Yorkshire.
