The snow has kept me indoors today. I have sewn all the gold beads onto the woolly wall hanging, while watching yootooob videos. It finishes it off perfectly. I did think I would hang it just as it is without a backing, but to make it easy for myself I will mount it on a board covered in black fabric.
I have a board which is just right for the job but it needs trimming down to the right size. I went to my friends house to ask him to do the job with his electric rotary saw in his workshop. He was not there. I suspect he might be away visiting his in laws. I will have to cut it down myself tomorrow on the bench in the back garden.
I made a pan of soup for dinner tonight. Broccoli, cauliflower, and carrot. Very nice it was. There is some left for tomorrow.
I would like to have a day out this weekend, but I'm not sure if there is going to be some more snow. I will check the forecast.
All cats have been indoors today. Even Oscar doesn't want to go out.
I see that the covid enquiry has come to an end. So, £200million has been spent on it.
Carl Heneghan gives his verdict.
The report demonstrates a complete failure to consider existing knowledge of respiratory viruses, both past and present, in its study of transmission. Additionally, it lacks an analysis of the devastating consequences of the 200 measures that were implemented. It does not address the issue of healthcare-associated infections or explore what caused the high number of deaths. Furthermore, the amateurish approach to attributing deaths—using 14 different definitions—was completely overlooked. Much of the report’s analysis, especially its analysis of lockdown timing, depends on mathematical models. Models are not evidence; they are predictions based on assumptions, often with enormous uncertainty.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip. ilona
As expected, basically a very expensive whitewash with meaningless conclusions. Wrong questions asked, deliberate exclusion of any dissenting viewpoints, it was never reach any sensible conclusions. The correct conclusions could have been written on a couple of pages of A4 paper three years ago by Heneghan - basically work with facts and not play with meaningless models, and use the basis of centuries of prior experience dealing with respiratory viruses. And NO lockdowns or masks!
ReplyDeleteYes, as expected. They had their own so called experts, paying them vast amounts of money, to make stuff up. It's not that they didn't know what they were doing, as Tracy below suggested, they were following a plan. The same thing was happening in all western countries. The odd one out was Sweden who didn't lock down.
DeleteI love the colourful work of art! How big is it? So many artists´ works are dark and dreary, I always wonder what goes on in the mind of the maker. I would never want to have something in my house that would only make me depressed.

DeleteRegardless of what anyone thinks of vaccines, masks or restrictions, the fact is that in the past we had pandemics approximately every 50 years. Prior to Covid the last one was at the end of the First World War, which meant that a pandemic was 50 years overdue and yet it seems that nobody in government asked the question "What should we do when the next one strikes?" or, if they did they did, they were told it wasn't a priority. I do have some sympathy for those in power at the time who were floundering around with different approaches and damned if they did and damned if they didn't.
ReplyDeleteAll planned. If there is a next one, they will be the ones to start it. I would hope that people won't fall for it again. Those that we think are in power are not in power. They were following orders.
