A bird watching sort of day.

It's been wonderfully warm today. Mr and Mrs Ducky were in the garden for most of the morning. They were sitting in the shade, close to the house, next to a bowl of water. Looks like they have settled in.
After lunch I went for a walk, taking my picking stick and a couple of bags with me. The plan was go down a long track to a road, then pick litter along there. The ground was rough so the trolley stayed at home. I got to the Park and emptied my very full bags into the bin behind the cafe. A ten minute sit down on a bench before I headed home.
Then I spotted Snowy the peacock. He was showing off his beautiful white feathers. What a treat.
He did a little dance and turned around.
It looks like he is wearing a bridal gown.
That's it, the show is over, and off he went.
I carried on picking litter as I walked home. Just caught the sunset as it was going down.

Dinner tonight was rice with a fried egg on top, smothered with grated cheese. Very nice.
Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

  2. Oh the peacock bride is stunning! We have a family of albino squirrels in Dorking town centre churchyard - they’re quite the celebrities (and I’m pretty sure they know it!). Heather

  3. It's too cold for Peacocks where we live now. They'd freeze.

Every year we have a Mallard couple stop over in our back garden. We've been in the house 20 years and every May a couple of Mallards spend a day here and go on there way. I know it's not the same couple, but our garden must look attractive from the air. We're about 3 blocks from a lake, so who knows.
