I have these pictures ready now, and the video has finished uploading. So, my bus ride to town yesterday was to see this light show at the 20 21 Arts centre. I almost missed the bus. I went out in plenty of time, but then found the road had been dug up and a big hole was cordoned off. The bus is not going to come from it's usual direction. I worked out the alternative route and set off walking towards the nearest bus stop. Then I saw the bus, and I backtracked. The driver had made a detour and was looking for his passengers. That was lucky.
Here is a bit of blurb about the show.
Lost Worlds by Luxmuralis is an immersive light and sound installation that takes audiences on an extraordinary journey through the great civilisations, myths and forgotten histories of humanity. Transforming historic spaces into vast moving canvases of colour, projection and sound, the experience invites visitors to travel through the ancient worlds of the Etruscans, Egyptians, Romans, Mayans and Anglo-Saxons, encountering cave paintings, medieval manuscripts, maps of exploration, mythic kingdoms and the natural world in a richly layered visual narrative. Accompanied by an original cinematic soundtrack, Lost Worlds combines large-scale digital projection with immersive storytelling to create a contemplative and awe-inspiring experience that connects the past with the present.
This plays continuously on a loop. Here is a five minute video I recorded. I had to wait for the rain to stop before I set off walking back home. One of the planters in Church Square had been used as a dumping ground so I cleared that away and put it in the litter bin.
There is a lot of litter along the busy main road. I don't have time to pick it all up so I filled my bag with bottles and cans, and put it in the litter bin at the pond.
Onward I went again, and filled the bag up for the third time. I deposited it in a litter bin at a bus shelter.
By now it was getting late and darkness was looming. I had to give up picking at that point and march quickly home. I must say, litter picking with just a stick and a carrier bag is hard work. I got a five and a half mile walk in but I didn't have time to pick a lot of litter. Now I have a list of places to revisit in my car and with a red bag in the trolley.
Enjoy your Sunday. Toodle pip. ilona
