Window shopping in London

Visiting London at this time of year means you get to see the very best of shop window displays. Those who read my blog regularly know that I don't do Christmas, so none of the goods displayed in the windows would ever tempt me to open my purse. I have the determination of an army of termites munching their way through a wooden house, when it comes to walking round a shop and coming out having spent not one penny.

However, it costs nothing to look, and the window displays around Oxford Street, Picadilly, and Regent Street are a fantastic free show. When darkness falls and the Christmas lights come on, everywhere is transformed into a magical wonderland. Peering into the windows is like losing yourself in pure fantasy. You can block out all the noise around you and let your imagination run wild, put yourself into the picture and dream. Become part of the fantasy.

Apologies for the reflection of the building opposite, in this photo. I had to put my camera close to the glass to try and avoid reflections, so I was not able to capture whole windows, just parts of them.

There were lots of little fairies in this window, all with their wings gently flapping.

A window full of chocolates and cup cakes, I was drooling.

Now why don't real caravans look this pretty?

A few reflections here.

If you look closely you can see me taking the photo. Can you see me?

These chickens look very real.

This is me and my boyfriend ;0)

Some of the windows are like beautiful works of art, such precision has gone into creating them. Well that's my window shopping done for this year. I hope you like them.
