This post is for people who like snowy pictures, and anyone else. After a late start this morning, I didn't get out of bed till 10.30am, no, I tell a lie, I got out of bed at 7.15am, made a mug of coffee, and got back in again. Anyway, I set off for a walk at 11.30am, after a late breakfast. A few other people had the same idea, walking is very popular round here. I took a few photo's. .
I like this knotty growth around the bottom of the tree. It looks like there is a figure hugging it.
I made a little video
I think I misjudged the angle of the camera towards the end, so here is a pic of the rest of me . I look like a shepherdess who has lost her sheep, ha ha. .
The walk took a couple of hours, due to me stopping to natter to people. Everyone was in a jolly mood and enjoying the snow. I must say it was hard going in places, due to the ground being frozen, with deep ruts in it. I'm glad I took the walking stick to steady me.
I've made a start on the rug, the latch hook is not working so well, so I have changed to a crochet hook. There won't be a particular pattern to the colours, just a mish mash, higgledy piggledy, mix them up, jumble. This is my first attempt, I'll see how it goes. Catch you tomorrow. Toodle pip.

Nice pics,love the plaid, bright colours make me happy you ought to have a hat to match or contrast. I used to make rag rugs but now that I quilt I can not bear to part with a single scrap. I use every bit bigger than 1 inch wide and smaller bits are used as stuffing for kneelers.

ReplyDeleteDon't know what would be harder - walking in the snow or the heat??!! We've had days of high 30s, so if I don't walk by 10am, I can't do one until the evening. Would love to walk to a tea room and back home through the snow.
There must be something about the snow that encourages us to make videos. I didn't go for a walk but I made a wee video of all the different wildlife that came to my bird feeder (made from a cup and saucer - very frugal) yesterday in the snow (on my blog).

Thank you for sharing your lovely snowy pics. We were well wrapped up today too and managed a careful walk around town. We saw quite a few families with sledges and one family were having great fun building a very large snowman in the park. Best wishes, Anne (South West)

Good for our well being and gets us out of the house.
I even took photo's of our footprints in the snow.

ReplyDeleteWe have about a foot of snow. We were thinking it was never coming. This past of the U.P. is considered prime snowmobile country. I'm not a fan of the beasts, but it runs our local economy. We hit 15*(degrees) today. We did venture out for a walk, but it didn't last long, and we didn't look as good as you!
Love the pictures you post; it's nice to put a 'face' on the towns and countryside you describe.
I think your rug will be just as brilliant as your life!
I'm one of these people that likes your snowy photos... especially here where it's so blimey hot. I can tell you, it cools me down just looking at them haha. It's good you can still get out even with the difficult conditions.
