Room for a pudding

When I was a little girl my mum used to say to me, 'if you don't eat your dinner, you won't get any pudding'. And I had to eat whatever she put in front of me. Sometimes I didn't like it and had to swallow it quickly because it tasted awful. Just so I could get my pudding.
I used to like puddings a lot more than I liked dinners. These days I like my dinners, and very rarely have a pudding because I am too full after eating a big plate full of vegetables.
Tonight I thought, why bother with a dinner, when I have some juicy fruit in the fridge. So here is my fruity dinner. Melon, nectarine, apricot, and grapes, topped with plain yogurt.
Now I am bursting with fruit, no room for a dinner. Eat what you like when you like, provided it's healthy food of course.
Toodle pip.

  1. Thats my kind of food, plenty of fruit and yoghurts altho today I cooked a dinner, my neighbour who has an allot5ment gave me Runner Beans, Carrots, Broad Beans, and a couple of Marrows, I did stuffed marrow with lots of the other veggies, the marrow was stuffed with cous-cous and bits of pepper that was in the fridge, all in all a very cheap meal

  5. That`s what I usually eat for my breakfast. But, can`t see anything wrong serving it for dinner.

  8. A gorgeous tea, Ilona and you are right, no harm in eating what you like as long as it is fresh and healthy. Cheers!

  9. Hello Ilona from House Fairy

    Brilliant dinner!
I have noticed...you rarely eat bread, cakes and pastries.

    1. Hi House Fairy. That's right. I have bread in the freezer, always wholemeal or seeded, never white. I sometimes have beans on toast, and make sandwiches to take out. Occasionally I have honey on a slice of bread. Cakes, I might buy one or two if they are very cheap as a treat. Don't buy them if not reduced. Very rarely buy pastries. Don't buy or make pies, flans, pasties. All have too much fat, sugar, and salt in them.

  10. I only eat Summer fruits, like strawberries, and stone fruit, but never for Breakfast!
