Me, the artist :o)

Hello, a quickie tonight, I am falling asleep. I went to the Art Gallery with a couple of friends to the preview of the Open Exhibition. My one picture which was accepted. Sadly I did not win a prize.
It was great chatting to some of the other artists. I met two people who did not have any pictures accepted, so I suppose I was lucky to get one in. I saw a few people I know, Michael Scrimshaw was there, he is the chappie with the dreadlocks who I go to see at the Ropewalk Open studios every September. The exhibition is on until February.

Heidi had her checkup this morning, the vet was pleased with her blood results. I suggested that we reduce her medication slightly, and Marion said that would be a good idea. So instead of having a full tablet every day, she will have one every alternate day, and half a tablet on the other days. I will monitor her behaviour to make sure she does not become tired.

It's bed time so I'll say goodnight. We'll catch up soon. Have a nice weekend.
Toodle pip.

  6. Your artwork is lovely. Sorry you didn't win. I have entered into art shows and won a few ribbons. Other times nothing. It depends on the judges and their tastes. Hope you had a good sleep. I'm tired and need to go to sleep as well. It's been a long but good day. Happy weekend!!

  11. Wow, Ilona-what a fantastic thing to happen. You are an artist because you create something beautiful from waste materials. You are looking very smart in your upcycled jacket. Catriona

  15. My husband is 59 and they offered him the same deal, take the lump sum, but basically 6 years of payments was equal to the pay off so do the math one does hope to live longer than 65. They know what they're doing or they wouldn't offer it. I do like your collage and the photo of you.

  18. I do admire your artistic abilities! Beautiful hanging. About eating out - I am careful where I eat and don't do it often but I have had some lovely meals and come away with new ideas for my own menus. Try to think of it as a monthly adventure, do some research to find really good places to try (maybe on a trip) and then go at a non-busy time. I find that so much more relaxing as it is quiet and the staff isn't rushed. You do eat well but this could be fun!!

  21. I really like your wall hanging/art piece. The background is especially nice. Also congrats on being accepted into the show. I'm not as brave, and never show my work except to those who venture inside my house. You inspire me with your art & walking!
