My Trucking Life. Part 2.

Yooootoooob has a new format which is taking some getting used to. Things change so there are new ways to do things. Crikey, it's difficult to stay ahead of the game when your brain is lagging behind.

Here's a new video.

I've just been watching a video on women truck drivers, it reminded me of how hard the job was. I'm glad I don't have to get up at three in the morning, get myself down to a filthy yard in the dark, check my truck over, and set off for the days work. Sad that my trucking days are over, but enjoying my brilliant life on a pension.

Raining today. Stuff to do in the house. The spam bots are homing in, six comments in overnight, all Anonymous rubbish. Please use the name option in the box. It helps me to sort through them.

I have a car load off stuff outside to sort through, all from Joyce's house. The family have been back to start emptying it, the house sold even before it went on the market. Most of what I have will go to charity shops. I have already distributed two car loads, a lot went to members of the Crafty Club, and some will be sold on the cat rescue stall. At least it's going to be useful elsewhere.

    1. I get those as well, I delete them straight away. Have you tried clicking on the user name, is it a link to another site? Is someone trying to sell something? I haven't checked. If a comment is in a language I don't understand it gets deleted straight away.

Very difficult to stop unwanted comments unless you only make it available to registered followers. You could try getting rid of the Anonymous option like I do sometimes if the spam gets too bad.

Another problem is that there are such a lot of different devices now that people can access the internet. They don't all sit at a computer like we do. It seems that compatibility is a problem now.

  2. Great stuff. Brought back more memories for me of male lorry drivers' chauvinism. I worked for a company selling office stationery and in particular copier paper from a satellite warehouse where I was the only person (just as I like it). The paper was delivered palleted by the tonne. 'Allo darlin' where's your forklift driver?' 'You're looking at her' often brought the sort of attitude you were only too familiar with. Silly buggers

  3. Please don't advise someone to click on either the user name or link, that's a sure fire way to get a virus. I'm surprised you aren't aware of that.

    1. I am aware of that, in most circumstances. I have good anti virus, and click on user names which I don't recognize to ascertain if they are genuine bloggers or not. I have not picked up any viruses. I don't click on user names which are dodgy looking in a language I don't understand.

    2. By the way, I didn't advise Briony, I asked if she had.

  4. Well done on being so determined and achieving what you wanted. It must have been very difficult not to get ground down with all the negativity at first. I really enjoyed the video and the photos and am sure you must have done a lot to pave the way for other women to become lorry drivers.

  6. Very interesting, again! I'm sorry that people were so ugly to you, but you didn't let them stop you, pioneer woman! And I think we all got a kick out of seeing your tripod. That's the kind of behind the scenes, real life stuff that we love.

My brother has been a lorry driver twice, in the nineteensixties and then again in the nineties, and I am afraid he was one of those chauvinists, too. But I am sure you would have been respected by him as soon as he had got to know you.
Your videos are so interesting, and you have a real talent for telling a story.
