What price freedom.

We have enjoyed freedom in this country for a long time, our fathers and grandfathers fought for it. Now there is a different kind of war going on, one that has been trundling along for a while, and is now escalating. The two sides seem incapable of meeting in the middle and it is sad to see. The gap between free thinkers who are capable of looking after themselves, and those who hand over their freedoms to follow any rules they are given. It is opening up into a chasm of gigantic proportions.

I think of the Grand Canyon. Emotions are running high on both sides, I am sure that some people would not hesitate to push others over the edge if they found themselves in a confrontational situation.

Indeed it is already happening. Perhaps not physically, but the cruel and abusive language used on social media can have just as devastating effect. Bullying is ugly, and says more about the perpetrator than the victim. Luckily I am thick skinned so it bounces off me.

I am halfway through reading A State of Fear, by Laura Dodsworth. It's about how the Government have weaponised fear during the pandemic. She asks the question, Why did the Government deliberately frighten us? I have my ideas on this, it will be interesting to discover whether the author is of similar mind. I think the answer will come in the second half of the book.

The inflammatory and derogatory language used by the Government is filtered down through the main stream media, and is used as an offensive weapon against anyone who is not conforming to the prescribed narrative.

For the record I am not anti vax. I have had all the vaccines as a child in the past, those that have gone through years of vigorous testing, but this jab is different. I choose not to put an unknown substance into my body in the name of an experiment. The long term effects are not known so ask me again in five years. Getting a jab is still optional, everyone has the right to decide for themselves. No doubt I will be called a super spreader, but there is evidence to say that I will be at risk from the jabbed as their immune system will have to be topped up with boosters for several years to come.

Neither am I a covid idiot, I find this term particularly offensive. I have been studying the whole debacle for well over a year. At first I fell for the hype as it was ramped up, but after a while I sensed that something wasn't right. It is understandable that mistakes were made in the early years, but now it is becoming evident that it isn't about a virus. It's a lot more complicated than that.

So will we get our freedoms back? No we won't, unless we choose to take them. I don't look too closely at what they are allowing us to do, because not much of it applies to me. The gap will still be there. People will continue to wear a mask because they are scared to catch the virus. For me it is a symbol of compliance, for some it has become a comfort blanket. Virtue signaling is all around us. I cover my face to protect you, aren't I a good person. Those who are following the rules to the letter will continue to look down on those who are the bad guys. Nothing changes, the damage has been done.

The Government are on the verge of bankrupting the country. Pinging has gone crazy forcing people to stay at home, even those with no symptoms. The NHS App is the new virus. Then there will be more lockdowns for whatever reason they choose next.

They will keep this going for many more months, even years. All I can say is beware, they are coming after your children. They said they wouldn't bring in vaxx passports, but they have, now everyone has one in their pocket. Do not trust them, and question everything.

Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. A very informative post, thank you. I would urge everyone to look up 'the Carrington event'. In my humble opinion we all need to be vigilant as I fear that things are going to get worse for mankind. On a happier note, enjoy the sunshine and still light nights before we go into the autumn.

  2. Totally agree Ilona. I went shopping today without my usual lanyard on and there were dozens of people still wearing masks. I'm used to the mean states I get for not wearing a face mask but they seemed to be worse today. The fear will continue. Masks will be here forever now. I think a lot of people would actually need some sort of therapy to wean them off wearing one. Like you say, for many they are a comfort blanket. Which is really all they are as the actual germs they trap is miniscule. I find It unbelievably stupid thanks people have the chance to live a relatively normal life again they choose not to.

  3. I added that book to my requests at the library last week although there is a long waiting list already - but they have more copies on order.
I've avoided the track and trace app and will carry on doing my own thing for as long as possible and will happily NOT wear a mask anymore. I have had the vaccination as with all vaccines it's just a small dose of the virus so wasn't concerned about that.
As for the government - I shall carry on not listening to them.

  5. They will make it mandatory by using a person's employment and therefore source of income as a weapon. Employers will mandate it due to health and safety, so people will be faced with resist and face disciplinary and eventually get the push, or take the vaccine. Thus mandatory by stealth. Employers will not want people who have to isolate so unvaccinated people will become mostly unemployable. This is what's happening right now.

    3. Universal Basic Income (UBI) is a government 'benefit' that will take over all the others: in essence, it is a guaranteed fixed income, about £850 per month to every citizen in the UK between the ages of 18- 64. The proposed idea is that you get the benefit if you 'obey the rules'. I am not making this up, for anyone here reading this please look at it. This is very worrying. A good site to explain it is 'Hugo Talks' on the internet or Carl Vernon makes some good observations.

    4. Ah yes, I have heard about that. Globalisation is coming where everyone will be the same, except for the rich who will get richer. You are not making it up. One Government, one religion, for the whole world.

  6. Boris is on a mission to close down night clubs. He has just announced that everyone will need to produce evidence of double jabs if they want to get in. A negative test is not enough.

    1. Boris Johnson's ex, Jennifer Arcuri, has just tweeted this.

What was announced today in the UK is nothing short of tyranny. For all those complicit in this criminality, shame on you.
      @BorisJohnson
is a traitor; his career is done. Pathetic spineless puppet with no soul. To all those fighting for freedom do not give up. This isn't over.

      She knows.

    2. Well, I have to laugh, because we do need to, regarding BoJo and his amnesia about the number of children he has; I think he has confirmed the number is six but it is dubious if there are other little Johnsons wandering about. What an example he is - 'I will do what I want, but the rest of you do what I say'. Jennifer Arcuri had a lucky escape from Johnson in my opinion. I don't trust Carrie, the new and third Mrs Johnson either.

    3. Carrie has her own agenda. I believe she hooked up with him to push forward on her charitable work saving animals. I hope she is able to stop trophy hunting and suchlike. Connections in high places and all that.

  7. How convenient it is for those in power that people will turn on each other and go all out to bully them into complicance. The masses are told that all of their problems are caused by (insert group/race/religion/whoever) and, sadly, they will believe it. All the time we are fighting each other, nobody watches them. You are right about the children. Six month olds soon. Next will be our pets. They are already jabbing the animals in the zoos in Oakland and Denver.

    1. I saw a video about jabbing animals in a zoo. Sickening. I also saw, today, a baby getting a PCR test done. A six inch cotton bud shoved up it's nose. Even more sickening.

    2. I hate the constant photos of people being jabbed. Even more sickening to me is the photos of young children being jabbed. The sheer volume of images are obviously intended to normalise such things. It's called 'seeding' (implanting an idea in peoples' minds). I read the Daily Mail, not for news, but to see what is planned for us next as they appear to use seeding in both articles and imagges. The Govt have spent a great deal of our money on 'advertising' and will continue to do so. The mainstream media are no doubt well paid for their assistance.

    3. Seeding is mentioned in the book. It is everywhere.

  8. Dear ilona, I have followed your blog for many years. I really like your common sense, down to earth, independent, if one thing doesn't work - I'll try something else, attitude! I am much the same - even close to your age! I will say though that I much prefer you as "MeanQueen" instead of "DramaQueen". Just carry on like you always have. You do that really well, I might add! You still have choices - you make them every day. Just keep on - keepin' on. When things are finally "done and dusted" most things will be the same as they have always been. You'll still need your Driver License if you drive, NHS number for healthcare, your tax records or deed to your home, your birth record, your passport/visa when you travel, etc. The list goes on ...

You and I have lived through many vaccines. I've had my shots but I still wear a mask, NOT TO PROTECT OTHERS, but to protect myself until I feel safe not wearing it. I do the same things I always do during flu season - use my common sense. If I catch something and die, it won't be because I did not try and prevent it. Also, we do not have NHS. A significant hospital stay would wipe out all I've saved for my retirement years!

I made it through four years of tRUMP! Coronavirus is NOTHING compared to him!

  9. From the beginning of the pandemic, and so far I haven't got the flu, thank God and the mask. That's great, as the flu usually weakens me, and the flu jab was of no help to me.
So, I'm going to keep on wearing the mask, but you're right about those vaccinated - their immune system "will have to be topped with boosters for years to come".

The universal credit money thing is completely true.during lockdown my son tried to claim a benefit as he was out of work.a very nasty women called him every three days and said if he didn't accept any job going he wouldn't get anything.she said it was high risk to go on a bus or work with people but he must apply for six jobs daily during the height of pandemic or he wouldn't get a penny.we gave up on that and just lived thriftily.what a joke it all is.he has a job now no thanks to them they are told to bully the unemployed when there vulnerable.fancy Boris fathering all those children I really do not see the attraction I'd rather be single forever than have to see him daily thankyou.lovley day again ilonax

  13. The entire UK has baffled me during the Pandemic. Sheltering. Vulnerable.

We are all vulnerable. Hell, I'm over 60, have a couple of long term illness and worked as a nurse during this mess.

From what I've seen on other blogs and forums, there were many who seemed to very happy to stay at home in the UK, collect money, and get their groceries delivered due to their label of "vulnerable".

A culture of fear and labelling is all I've seen come out of this.

still will wear my mask because it's such a small thing to do to stay safe. To me, it's not

  17. In 2020 many people rejoiced to soon see 2021. Well, I told them I might give up my mask at the end of 2022, maybe. I don't wear a mask to look virtuous. I wear it to stay safe from idiots who will not get a vaccine! I would be certain to die if I caught covid or the delta variant. I am 75 and have immune system problems. So, I protect myself and don't care what anyone thinks. I doubt there will be deleterious affects from the vaccine in five years.

I was compelled to get the vaccine and now have intense and frequent arm tingling, I have a colleague whose 28 year old daughter was in the hospital with nerve issues for three weeks and they cannot help….she is out but she’s barely able to walk….also perfectly healthy pre shot. I’m no idiot, and no way I would want anyone else forced to do this by those too selfish to understand personal bodily autonomy. The only idiots around are those calling people names who don’t want to take the risk for a virus with a serious illness rate lower than seasonal flus.

    7. Thank you for your comment, Daybyday. Adverse reactions are being swept under the carpet. Some of them have ended in fatalities, some have left people with life changing long term disabilities. All this information was not presented to the public in the beginning, it was held back. Still they push on with jabbing everybody. It needs to stop now.

  18. Ilona, I agree with everything you've published on the topic so far. Here in Ireland we have a government that is lockdown crazy. Do you mind if I give you a link? This Irish GP is the type of doctor we would all like to have and he has four short videos on the situation. Full of common sense. My husband and I and our four grown up children are not taking this jab. None of us have the app either. Here's the link: https://youtu.be/DV4MD6aLrtE

  21. I have not worn a mask for months, even before I had my jabs. I did not feel afraid. I'm asthmatic but have great faith in my immune system. It is so refreshing to see others today in shops not wearing masks. But already we are being fed takes of masks being made mandatory again next month. Mind games. Give people a taste of freedom then take it away. All part of the plan. But I will just wear my lanyard again. I refuse to be muzzled. Ever.
