Bullies or trolls?

Good morning. I wasn't going to post today, but I will now I have received this comment. It came in at about 3am this morning, so that tells me it is possibly from the other side of the world. This is just one of many that land here, mostly I delete them, occasionally I publish one just to illustrate the dark side of blogging.

Yes, ignore, deny and spread falsehoods. How about running for Parliament Ilona. We all understand that a truckie knows more than any qualified scientist, epidemiologist and medical expert. You could run as the common man's expert on Corona. Go for it Ilona. You are so good at rambling you are sure to succeed.
I didn't see Rachels recent disruption on her blog, but I can well understand her disappointment that it happens. She prefers to call them bullies, which they are, but I would add that when the same person does it over and over again, I think it's fair to call them trolls.

The tone of the comment is important, how it is written is important, the language used is important. Some of them are blunt to the point of abuse. This one I show here is sarcasm personified. Someone who thinks they have a better understanding of me, than me.

You have to feel sorry for them. I am at the top of my game, they are at the bottom trying to claw their way back up. The only way they know how is to knock other people back down to their level. Well it's not happening here. There will be no tears from me, I will not be taking my blog down.

I've had enough knockbacks in my life to know that if you show your weaknesses they come back over and over again, and go for the jugular. I have never known this level of bitterness in people before, it is soaring to new heights. There is something strange going on.

Enjoy your weekend. I think it's going to be rainy here, not a good prospect but it is what it is. I did a late shop last night at Aldi so I have some delicious food in the fridge. Plenty of vegetables and some treats. The car is filled up with petrol so if there is a sunny spell I am ready to go out.

Thanks for popping in, we'll catch up soon. If any bullies comment on this, on yer bike sunshine. In the words of Catherine Tate's character, Lauren, Am I bovvered? I ain't bovvered.

Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. wow, nasty comments. hubby is a bus driver and has been working through all this and said to me the other day, he has noticed that the nastiness and attitude has got worse since people have had the covid jab. No need to start a debate of the right's and wrong of the jab, it is just an observation.

    1. It's like another plague. It's a very sad situation to be in. Where is the laughter, where is the joy, where is the fun?

  2. I think the perceived anonymity of being online encourages some people to say things they would not dream of/dare to utter to your face.

I recently read an interview with Jack Monroe (cookingonabootstrap). They said when they started presenting on Daily Kitchen Live they received online abuse 24 hours a day, eventually totalling a quarter of a million messages. There really are too many unhappy people with too much time on their hands and access to the internet ... sigh.

  4. My friend had so many nasty comments on FB as she refused the vaxxx. Most and the worst were from her Adult Children and grandchildren. They don't want anymore contact with her now and it's months ago. Sad situation when this tears families apart

  5. These are just sad people with nothing better to do than try to bring others down, I have been saying for a couple of year that so many now have such bad attitudes but worryingly, very bad anger issues over nothing. It is a very selfish and me, me, me world we are now living in as shown by the petrol situation and food shortages in lockdown... an I'm alright Jack situation and don't get me started on bad driving anger issues !! 1. I have to say that I was a cool, calm, and collected driver when I was on the road. Nothing fazed me. I just let the whole world go crazy around me, and got on with my job.

  6. It is bewildering to me that people post such drivel, do they not have a life? I am not sure if there are that many people with mental illness or if someone is making software to post mean comments. Either way, it is a strange world we live in. In the days before technology, an analogy would be to walk up to a stranger on the street and insult their clothing or hairstyle. It goes back to my mothers training, if you can’t say something nice, say nothing at all. Love your blog and your spirit! Hilogene in Az.

    1. From some of the comments I read on Tweeeeter, are so personal and so horrible, I wonder if they are being paid to write like that to disarm the enemy.

  7. Why do some people bully others? Why do they not create something with their own lives istead of being mean to others. I think the best thing to do with trolls is to ignore them, just let them pass like a smelly fart in the wind, cause that is what they are.

    1. When you think about it, it is such a waste of valuable time. Instead of being destructive, they could be constructive which would give them a sense of purpose.

  8. Ilona l am so sorry to read this. I also cannot stand bullies. This speaks more about them. l really pity them in that that they have to reduce themselves to these kind of comments. Keep being your lovely self you have so many followers of which l am one 😊 that enjoys your blog and admires your stance on life. Much love and virtual hugs 🤗 LeeLee xxx

  9. I can only agree with you on the bitterness of people right now. I have had two encounters recently with different workmen and both were rude, impatient and horrible for no reason.
Must be something in the air or maybe in something else ???

    2. Ilona, I'm sorry that you are having to deal with bullies and trolls. For what it is worth ($0), a 7 hour time difference would be in Mountain Time in the US. (I am one hour later in Pacific time). Briony, if I ever had a rude workman show up, I would call his boss on the spot. And if he were self-employed, I would send him packing. No way am I paying someone to come into my home and be rude and/or hateful!

  10. I'm sad to say that more and more there seems to be a simmering under-girding of anger below the surface. Passive aggressive behavior is becoming overtly aggressive. I notice this in driving attitudes and generally around and about. Too many selfish people and not enough 'do unto others...'. Some days I despair. Indeed, there is something strange going on.

Well I am up so early because of the clocks,I dont know if I have gained a day or lost some of it because I will be tired now at about 5pm on Sunday, lol Never mind,it will all work out after a couple of days.Anyway Jane Jered, needs to be publicly Named and Shamed.Police can track every device now and she needs to know this.I know because of my Daughters work.Certain individuals think it is ok to be abusive on line...well it isnt. She should be very careful about what she or he is doing unless they dont mind it all going public, with their real names.xx

    2. There are millions of Jane Jereb's out there. The new Online Harms Bill about to come in is supposed to weed out all the undesirables. Yes, that might help, but it will also suppress freedom of speech, and anyone making an off the cuff flippant comment will also be searched out and dealt with.

  15. I have to say I really don't like the world these days. People seem to have changed so much since all this has happened. I try to avoid people as much as possible. I am giving up work and I am retiring age and can't stand the atmosphere in the office any longer. It all seems to revolve around who has had which jab and if not why not. I love my garden and walking and want to be happy. I admire you Ilona, you are your own person and won't be cowed down by vicious, jealous people. Carry on as you are and enjoy life!

    1. Yes, there are good people about. Your statement, 'people just comply peacefully and without fuss', worries me. If they want to spend the rest of their lives doing just that, that's fine, but there are a lot of people who can see right through the charade. This is the cause of the division, which has been whipped up by the media.

    2. Totally agree Ilona. It's this 'complying without fuss' attitude I cannot stand. That's why all through this I have ignored one way signs in shopping centres and cancer chemical hand sanitisers. Standing in a marked box to wait for bread to be sliced in the supermarket. So many ridiculous ideas and all in the name of a so called virus which has been amplified to rule people's lives through fear. As for masks, they do not work. And why do people still persist in wearing them outside in the fresh air? Too much bunkam and yet it still goes on.

  17. I have tidied up this thread. I have tried to include alternative viewpoints but it only ends up with more abuse. The only way to deal with it is to not publish anything from the bullies and trolls. I'm afraid the division is here to stay, and will only become wider with time.

    1. Talking of division. This video gives a very good description of the two sides of the great divide. Why it happens, and if it can be healed. 13 minutes long. Worth a look for those who want confirmation that they are on the right side, or for those who are uncertain of which side they want to be on, or for those who have already decided and want to rubbish it anyway.

    2. I've just watched this short film; all your followers should view it. I don't know what was more upsetting, the poor Indian children who had contracted polio from a jab, the trapped pigs, or Bill Gates boasting of the staggering returns that can be made from investigating in vaccines. So pleased he's going to get even richer.

  18. Often 77th brigade, they are paid to troll people on social media who don't completely follow the narrative.
I thought that was nonsense until I looked into it and it's true, I've even seen them admit that is what they are doing. Bit of extra cash, sitting at home giving out sh**e to people!
The fact that they are paid to do this astounds me.

    1. I have been checking this out, Lynn. Yes, seems like there are people who are working for Big Pharma and Big Tech. I have just read a whole tweeeeter thread pretending to be on our side, and came to the conclusion that it was designed to scare people into getting jabbbered, as a better alternative to being locked up in a quarantine camp. Time will tell if that story is true or not.

  19. I am sure this was part of the intention - to create such a divide. As you say neighbours are against neighbours and families against families...when in time did this happen previously? All around the world people are quoting the same narrative...my Dad says EXACTLY what my Mother In Law says - so you know it has come from the MSM 'news'. I never ever thought I would see the day when my Dad would talk like he now does and even when I try to explain things to him, to show him how illogical some of the thinking is, he just can't see it. It is sad. So glad I have re-found your blog. I have pretty much kept away from reading many blogs as I have just got so sick and tired of reading the same thing - the virtue signalling and the trying to make people feel bad if they want to make their own decisions about their health, and question things that just don't make sense.

    1. Thank you for your comment, and welcome back. I could easily turn this whole blog into the truth about what's going on, but it would probably get taken down. As I have about 13 years of work here I would rather that didn't happen. There is a little corner here where I am adding links, which you might find interesting. Check out the page links under the header.

I am appalled to read the hatred spouted on other blogs from those who have followed the instructions given to them from the Government and main stream media. Attacking those who think differently and have chosen not to join in with the circus.

Stay strong my friend, we have a huge battle to fight. Stand up for what you believe in. Hold your line. Best wishes.
