A day not wasted.

What a miserable day outside. I had hoped to meet up with the local walking group, but I doubt anyone turned up in the pouring rain. Not to worry, I got these nine pet beds finished instead. Always have a plan B.
I have just finished a delicious stir fry for lunch. Courgette, broccoli, leeks, Singapore style noodles, cooked in a Blue Dragon Satay stir fry sauce. A splash of beer gave it an extra zing. I am sampling the Bomber County craft beer, made in the Lincolnshire Wolds. It's a deep red premium bitter with earthy hops and fruity malt tones. Very tasty.
Still raining so I'll get back to the sewing. Toodle pip.   ilona

  1. Plan B was a success!! Today is the last day of my holiday, back to work in the morning… for a few more months anyway 😉😉. I will be riding my recumbent bike this afternoon, it’s high 29 right now and windy outside. Your lunch sounds like a gourmet meal. Keep on keeping on mother!!! We love reading your posts and appreciate you sharing with us. We would never get to see these places in your corner world otherwise. 🤗🤗

    1. The weather has not been too good for getting out and about. We are getting constant rain. I watch other people's videos of their out and abouts. I have just watched Mike driving from LA to Vegas. A trip I did once a few years ago, with my then boyfriend. Seeing LA Airport where we got a helicopter to the Grand Canyon. Magic memories.

    3. No, Tammy. The Coaster tour was 17 theme parks in 15 days. We travelled on two coaches, and apart from a day in New York, and a day at Niagara Falls, it was all coasters. On another trip we flew to LA, spent a few days there, then drove to Vegas. It was my boyfriends treat for his 40th birthday. He arranged everything, including the helicopter ride on his actual birthday.

  2. Debi from Leicester. The weather has been really bad here as well.I dont think it stopped raining for about 4/5 days....but fingers crossed,it isnt raining here at the moment so Im hoping to go into town in a while.I dont need anything but just for a change of scenery, lol.Hopefully it will be a lot quieter than it was a couple of days before Christmas.Your plan B worked out well.My plan B for this week is to stitch up the holes that are appearing in my Vintage jumpers. One of them is about 55 years old...but Im sure that I can get another couple of years wear out of it!xx

    1. It's good to get out of the house for a while, even to look around somewhere you have been to before.

  3. I am wondering what you use as the filler in your pet beds - they look like a good size to go in a doggy crate.. Do you just use regular batting or wadding? I have a number of wool batting - the kind for quilts.. Would that work?

    1. Hello. I use full size duvets given to me, either single or double bed. I cut them up into approximate equal squares. It makes nine from a double size. Don't use feather duvets, it makes a lot of mess. The covers are made from fabric I was given, a friend was clearing out the house of an elderly relative who passed away. I don't put a zip in them. The whole thing will fit into a washing machine. You can use wadding or batting. You can buy a new duvet for around £10 and cut that up. Lay it out on the floor and cut it up.
