You can't turn back time.

I was rushing to get to the Coffee Morning this morning and saw Keith waiting at the bus stop. I said, aye up, how are you doing. He didn't look too good and seems to have aged a lot in the three months since I last saw him. He told me he had been ill, really ill, and still wasn't quite right. He is a keen walker and usually walks every day, but says he has had to cut down . He often gets the bus to town because he  doesn't have a vehicle to drive himself. He used to have a campervan and went up north for weeks at a time. The Lake District was his preferred destination. That's the third person in a few days that has talked about being ill over Christmas.

Coffee Morning was a hive of activity. Quite a lot of people chattering away. Last week I sat for ten minutes talking to the ladies I usually see at Crafty Club. I moved away and sat at a table by myself after one of the ladies seemed to cough a lot. This week I didn't join in with their chattering. I like to sit on my own and get on with a bit of sewing.

Pat came across and told me about a trip they are planning to organise. A mini bus to the NEC at Birmingham for a craft event. She asked me if I would be interested in driving the mini bus. She had enquired with a company to rent one, but they said she couldn't have one. Apparently they have an age limit of 70. Pat is 71. She asked if I could do it. I said, if that is their limit, they won't let me have one, I am 75. She said, oh, I didn't know.

Comments on the blog have gone a bit quiet. It gives me a breathing space. They have ramped up on the yootooob channel though, and not one rude or nasty one among them. Strange innit. I probably get off lightly for hate mail compared to others on social media. I wonder how long it will take for people to stop fighting with each other, and realise you can't turn back time. Cue song.

This video reminds me of when I went to see Cher at Sheffield Arena on 19th of May 2004. My birthday treat. This is her Farewell Tour. I don't know which venue this was filmed at, but I was in the middle of a crowd just like this. It was magic. Row 36, Block c, Seat 17. Ticket £35. Glad I did it then, couldn't do it now.

Now it's time to eat. I have half a stir fry left over from last night. I will bulk it up with some chick peas. Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

    1. Hello Tammy. Yes, it's strange. My last video has been viewed 5.7k times, and has 254 comments. Not one has been deleted, none have been offensive or rude, none have criticized me. My total video count is just coming up to 600. Not that that matters. I am doing it for fun.
I started the blog 15 years ago, so people have got to know a bit about my life. Quite a lot in fact. I think it's funny how readers think they know me, without even having met me. My thinking says that's impossible. The bits that they don't know, they make up. Assumptions are rife on the internet.
I think it's possible that the really nasty trolls could be someone from my past and may have had some contact with me. For whatever reason they wish me harm. For anyone to hold so much bitterness inside them will only destroy any chance of happiness for themselves. They can't see that. I have two names in mind for that depth of hatred.
Who can tell what goes on in someone head? Nothing surprises me We are in a psychological war, whipped up by the richest people on earth. It may eventually erupt into a full blown war if people don't wake up and smell the roses.

Debi from Leicester. You are so right ,time flies by.It doesnt seem that long ago that I was in my 40s and now I am 70 in a few months time.Life changes so much, but we have to just go with the flow and make the most of it.My pleasures at the moment are seeing a robin come to my garden each day,my tomato slices that I planted not long ago have grown into seedlings and I have grown a couple of onions! It doesnt take much to make me happy these days, lol.xx

  3. They have a name for this phenomenon: "Parasocial interaction"(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parasocial_interaction), it's a little bit like when people can't differenciate between actor and role. I guess a lot of people are very lonely in real life.
I guess your are right about the haters on your block, it's sounds more personal.

    1. Thank you. That's an interesting article. I am sure that the dividing line between real life and acting is somewhat blurred. If you watch a fictional character in a tv programme for a long period of time, week after week, month after month I'm sure that some people will imagine they have a personal friendship with the character. I suspect that at least one of my haters is someone personal to me. All I can do is hope that they find some peace in their muddled mind.

  4. You only get rude and nasty comments
whenever you make political comments, express your views about immigration and
non acceptance of the fact people have the right to to change gender.

  5. Sorry Ilona but you’re wrong about this one. Transgender people come from all around the world, from every racial and ethic background. There are millions of them. Chances are you’ve met a transgender person even if you don’t know it.
