Walking Group photo's, and check in

Hello. Thank you to the members of the International Walking Group for sending in your photo's of where you walk in your area. Some lovely places, I can see why you are enjoying this challenge so much. There is a prize for the winner, it isn't judged on the photo, it's a prize draw, so each photo is a chance to win a goody bag.

(1) Jeanneke. Dokkum,  Friesland, The Netherlands.

(2) Jacquie.

(3) Amanda with her doggie. Peachtree City, Atlanta, Georgia.

(4) Anne aka slimsdotter. Photo taken from her ranch in Wyoming USA

(5) Jenette. Teddesley Park, Penkridge, Staffordshire

(6) Katherine. Kate on the Coast. Somewhere on the south coast I think

(7) Patricia, Canada.

(8) Sue, aka Beachcomber. A regular walking place of six miles.

(9) Angela, Rodborough Common, near Stroud, Gloucestershire, looking down on North Woodchester.

(10) AT, New Hampshire.

(11) Odette, in rural Wales, near Wrexham. On a clear day she can see England.

(12) Sandy in the USA. Mojave Desert, California.

(13) Rentintin from Croatia. Sunset from Istria.

(14) Shelly. Early morning walk in the woods.

(15) Hilogene. This is a road she walks down every day, though not when it is this late.

Unfortunately the next two photo's don't qualify for the prize draw, but I'll include them anyway because they are so nice.

Simplesista. A day out at Clumber Park.

Alison. Royal Victoria Golf Club, looking out over the Straight of Georgia, to the Gulf and San Juan Islands.

Fantastic photo's everyone, thanks for sending them. Now we know what your area looks like. All I have to do now is the prize draw to find the winner of the goody bag. So here goes.

Congratulations number 13. I have two spellings for your name, it came through as Rentintin on your email, and you check in under Rin tin tin. If you could please send me your postal address via email, or here and I won't publish it, and I will send you your prize.

I have two runner up prizes and these are for number 3 Amanda, and number 9 Angela. Could you also send me a postal address and you will both get a hand made, exclusive, shopping bag.

This is also the group check in post. Please update your miles for the first five months of the year, We start the sixth month now and the target is to reach 500 miles by the end of this month. I am on 430. I have been slacking a bit but I must now get back to my normal three mile walk per day.

Thanks for popping in, keep walking, keep fit and healthy, watch your diet, don't eat rubbish, get up off your bum and walk. We'll catch up soon.

Lovely to look at all of the photo's. My total miles for the month of May is 68miles. Total for the first five months is 272 miles, not what I had hoped to do, however, when looking at last months miles there was an increase, not much but some. Must admit I have been busy for the past few weeks cleaning out my Mother's house, so not much energy left for walking. That's my excuse and I am sticking to it. LOL Have a wonderful day everyone and up and onward for a better walking month of June for me. Patricia

85 miles for May 2018. That's 355 for the year so far, it doesn't sound much for nearly half a year and yet I feel I have been so busy.

  13. Wow we have some talented people in the group, I meant to get around to taking a photo but mine would not be as pretty. If I had known I would get a one of a kind Ilona bag I would have done it. Been planting today, cleaning the pool for my daughters friends to come over tonight. Doing my low carb thing right now..sometimes I could murder a tea cake lol Haven't got out of the garden to walk but cutting grass etc counts too, I sweat a lot and can feel the burn bending up and down all day. Have a great weekend everyone stay safe.

  14. Really beautiful pictures. Here in Sweden it is so hot, that you hardly can go out during the day.
You really inspire me to go in the right direction, try to stay fit and healthy. Some friends that I have overeat and want me to company them, They blame age and says it is so hard to lose weight when you get older, that it is no idea to even try.

  18. Hi Ilona, such lovely pictures and congratulations to the winners. Sorry I forgot to put where I walk. It's the East Midlands of England.
My total for May is 78 miles so just short of target. I've been busy in the garden so not my best month, still my total for the year so far is 438, so slightly ahead of target. I must try and do better in June.

  23. Beautiful photos everyone. I'm super excited I qualified, thank you Ilona. My miles this month were way down due to a crazy work schedule, 134. Bringing my YTD to 757. Hopefully life will slow down and I can get out more. Well done everyone there are some great numbers out there.

  25. Ilona, have you seen Steve Cutts animation the Rat Race? It is fantastic!

    ReplyDelete
  26. It is about four minutes and i is about consumerism and that things dont give you happiness. it is funny and welldone. The name of the film is "Happiness" and not the rat race but it is about peoples rat race, how we are trapped into days society, to just buy. I think Steve Cutts is from London.

  27. Such a great idea these photos Ilona!

  31. Really enjoyed seeing everyone's photos, great pictures everyone. I've done 65 miles in May, I am pleased with this as my personal goal is 50 per month, and I am doing a few more than I did last year. I did a 17 mile walk on one of the Bank holidays, this is my personal best of miles walked in a day and I was very happy with this. You must be very fit Ilona, as I don't think I could do 20 odd miles a day for consecutive days as you do on your holidays!

  32. Sorry for late check in. 107 miles for May (total 470). Lovely photos. I couldn't work out how to send mine in.

Sorry for late check-in - we have been away doing some walking and cycling! Month's walking total is 94 miles so 470 miles year total...so far so good! Also managed 143 miles cycling so welll-chuffed. Problem is I come back so hungry I weigh-in 2lbs heavier at the end of this month. Must pack more fruit ........ I'm with Kate on the Coast...how do you manage 20 miles, day on day Ilona? Guess I have to keep going and keep getting fitter!!!!
