Walkers check in.

Good morning, it's almost midday actually. The beginning of the month is check in day for the International Walking group. So how have we all been doing? The target was 416 miles, I am pleased to report that I have done 424. So a good start for me heading towards the halfway point of 500 miles. 
Walking through long grass slows me down a bit, and adds an extra ten minutes onto the walk. 
I have a new sun visor. The old one had seen better days. The fabric was faded, it had to go. I had re covered it three times, and replaced the broken peak with a piece of plastic from a chocolate box. I removed the velcro fastening from the back and put it on the new visor. Wadya think? Cool eh!

It rained a lot yesterday. Oscar says, I'm not going out in that.

  1. Just got back to the U.S. from a delightful one month stay in France that included a 6 day walk through the Alsatian wine route. Being a tourist means a lot of walking so I logged 189 miles this month for a total of 645 miles.

  2. Good morning Ilona and the other walking group folks. May was a quiet month, walking wise, here for me in the Arizona desert. 54 miles total, for a year to date total of 298. Not quite 2 miles a day, but the heat has started and my walking companion, my small dog, has been ill, so our walking total each day is closer to one mile. Still happy to get out and about. Hope everyone is well and had good walking weather this month. Hilogene in Az.

  3. Hi Ilona. Very cute sun visor. Between traveling, husband having skin cancer removed and rain, I logged only 79.91 miles this month. My YTD is 389.38. We plan to travel a bit in June so it probably won't be a big month mileage wise but that's ok....I am just thankful for health to be able to walk when I want. Hope you have a great month.

  4. Missed the checkin last month as I was out of town. Have had a very busy spring with lots of walking, including a 10 km race! I planned to walk it (most people run) but with 6000 other people taking part it was hard not to jog along at times, so I guess it was more of a race walk. Ha ha. Anyways, for April I did 166 miles and May was 162. Total for the year so far is now 749.

  5. My total is 389 miles. I have been very ill in April, only walking from my bed to the sofa and to the bathroom. I did quite well in May, even though my knee has hurt very much sometimes. My doctor told me I need a knee replacement, but I really try to avoid surgery. I am going to have physiotherapy, hope that helps.

  6. Good to be checking in. Well done on your mileage Ilona. I am on 396, which is pretty respectable considering work and other stuff. Looking forward to the coming months getting out and about as much as possible and enjoying the countryside. Cheers Karen

  7. I clocked 72 miles for this past month. Total so far is 367. I gotta get new walking shoes! :)
