Inside Lincoln Cathedral.

A few pics of inside Lincoln Cathedral. It sure is beautiful.

The sun shining through the windows projects the colours onto the pillars.

If you have 16 minutes to spare you might like to watch the video.
I have more pictures of my visit to Lincoln. Come back again to see them. Here is the web site for the Cathedral.

Next.

I have a video uploading, it takes a while because I don't have superfast broadband. I am limited as to what I can do on the computer while that is happening. No worries, plenty to do around the house.

I can do a quick post at the same time. A few thoughts. I wonder when the next pandemic will happen? They said there will be another one. They are working on more jabs in the arm. It seems to me that they will continue to build on the fear and worry that they have already created. There are still a lot of unanswered questions on that one. They say the emergency will be over in May, how do they know that? I don't believe them, they lie at every opportunity.

I see the drug addicts living on the streets in the US, a very sad sight to see. I liken big farma to the same pushers. The results are the same. They are both ridiculously rich by peddling misery.

They will be bringing out more treatments, which will panic people again. Keeping people dependent on drugs I think is their aim. They are not bothered whether the tablets and potions and treatments are helpful, as long as the doctors and hospitals keep buying them from the pushers. When someone is programmed to think their only route to survival is to keep trotting off to the doctors or the chemist, then they have lost control of their lives.

I am glad I never tried smoking tobacco or any other substance. I didn't get influenced by the pot smoking pop stars. I didn't get caught up with the purple heart craze. No hallucinogenic trips for me. Oh, I had a few pints of beer alright and was quite partial to a vodka and lime, but not to the extent that rendered me incapable of standing up and finding my way home. The world is a dangerous place and I was always mindful that there were bad people wanting to take advantage of me. I wore an imaginary suit of armour which served me well.

It will be interesting to see what happens next in this corrupt plan of world dominance.

Guess where I've been

I've had a cracking day out today. The sun was shining so I got myself organised. Snacks and drinks in the bag. Comfy footwear and warm jacket. I have taken lots of photo, and made two videos so look out for them in the next few days. Can you guess where I've been?

Thanks for popping in. We'll catch up tomorrow. Toodle pip.   ilona

Stand in the Park

It's been a good a good day today. This morning the sun was out so I went to Central Park to meet up with my Stand in the Park buddies. We meet at the fountain and talk about the current situation. Nice to speak with people who are all on the same wavelength.
It's a big park and as I was walking back to the car I wondered what was happening over on the other side. Me being nosey I went to have a look. People were busy filling a garden with new plants. It all looks very colourful.

Here is some info on a board. The sun was in my eyes and I chopped a bit off the side. I think you can get the gist of it. I like to see memorial gardens because someone has worked hard to design it and rally a team of volunteers to look after it. Lets hope that it gives people years of pleasure.
Next I went to Go Outdoors to look at the camp beds. I had seen some which might fit into the car, a possible upgrade to the sun lounger I use. The young assistant carried one to the car to try it for size. Sadly it didn't fit, due to the position of the legs at the front. Not to worry, it was an idea. I can carry on camping with the sun lounger.
A quick visit to Aldi on the way home. There was a few things I needed. It was a bit busy so I was in and out in double quick time.
Back home for a cheese sandwich, then a Billy dog walk after. He was raring to go as usual.
Richard Vobes (The Bald Explorer) has been busy making more videos. He put one out today which was interesting. He managed to get an interview with Andrew Bridgen. Those who follow will know he is the MP who has recently been sacked from his job for speaking out about the high numbers of vaxxx damaged people. Andrew spoke a bit about his background. He is a very clever man. If you want to see the interview it is here. Edit. This video has had 112k views. Keep going Richard. Still going up. Now 125k views.
It's been a good day for Novack Djokovic. In 2022 he was unable to compete in the Australian Open due to the Australian Governments decision to cancel his visa. In 2023 he wins a 10th Australia Open. 🎾

Walk and talk.

Good evening. It has been a household chores day today. Not very exciting. Two loads of washing. A buzz round with the new vac cleaner. I washed the car. Trimmed some hedges. Finished the tree picture which I will show later.
This is a video I made yesterday while out walking. It's a bit long, 19 minutes, and has taken most of the day to upload it. I must make them shorter.
Enjoy your Sunday. Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

A few pics from the walk today

There wasn't a whisper of wind today. No sun, just overcast, and not cold. I made a short diversion from my normal walk to see if there was anything interesting to photograph on the Industrial Estate. What a depressing place it was.
The floral tributes adorning this tree looked like they had been there for about six months. Now dead flowers wrapped in tattered plastic wrappings. I don't know if the person died because their car hit the tree, as it often happens, or were they placed there because the deceased was a well known work colleague. I don't know, but someone could tidy it up a bit and removed the debris.
The lower branches have been cut off this tree. Presumably because it is so close to the building.

This abandoned and derelict building has been here for ages. Must be about time to take it down.

Off I went across the fields towards home. I don't know why I am attracted to this wonky tree. Maybe I feel sorry for it because it looks lonely and sad.
Best get a move on, the lights are coming on over Scunthorpe way.

I made a walk and talk video, I'll get it uploaded for tomorrow.

Thanks for popping in. Enjoy your weekend. Toodle pip.   ilona

Howard - What Happened?

I am writing a new blog post and suddenly came across this. It made me laugh. Worth a share I thought. Let's all laugh at the ridiculousness of the situation we are in. Howard from the Halifax has become a star.
Poking fun at angry people, identity, new pronouns, getting cancelled, fake diversity, madness, and Greta. Three minutes of fun.
See ya later. Toodle pip.   ilona

Where to next.

It's time I was gathering a few ideas for the trips I hope to take in the spring and summer. I take my map books to bed for a few minutes perusal before I nod off. The next step is to put the area I am interested in visiting into the yooootooob search engine, and see what videos are thrown up from people who have been there.
I keep a notebook handy to jot down any places that I think might be worth checking out. Then look for web sites to find out more about a particular attraction which has caught my eye. This is how I worked out a route for my South Coast holiday, which turned out to be super exciting. I worked my way through Devon and Cornwall, ending with a flight from Lands End to the Isles of Scilly. The icing on the cake.
September 2021 saw me in the Outer Hebrides, now that was a smashing holiday. Before that I went to North Wales and Anglesey. This year I might go to south Wales.
When I started lorry driving This area was a regular route for me. Every Monday night would see me at Cardiff Lorry Park. Next day I would head off to Swansea and onward to Llanelli, taking in the valleys around Merthyr Tydfil and Pontypridd. I remember having a night out at Bridgend. I parked the trailer at the BRS depot and went to a pub in the tractor unit. I had a meal, and had a good night with a German driver who was also there for the night. I have to say I couldn't keep up with his drinking. 😜Boy was he knocking them back. It was a good laugh though.
So, the research is on to plan some trips out. In the past people have asked me about my safety, travelling alone. My reply has always been I am careful, taking note of my surroundings, and being aware of anything that doesn't seem quite right. I am a fairly confident traveller and like to think I can take care of myself.
Now I am going to make a confession. I am becoming a little bit jittery about some areas where there seems to be an increase in the amount of people who have come here from other parts of the world. There doesn't appear to be enough cross channel ferries to cope with the large numbers wishing to come. Smaller vessels are being sent to bring them in. Only yesterday it was reported that around 500 of these invited guests arrived from France, courtesy of the Border Force taxi service. I call them invited guests because it's obvious to me that's exactly what they are.
There does seem to be rather a lot of them, and have you noticed that most of them are men of a certain age. They are being spread far and wide throughout the country. I have to admit, as confident as I am, I feel rather intimidated by them hanging around in groups. It's just the sheer volume which is quiet worrying. Hotels are filling up at an alarming rate, seaside resorts, town centres, and some big hotels in rural areas.
I hope to keep on exploring parts of Britain that I am not familiar with. As I have mentioned many times, I love big open spaces. I love fields, canals, rivers, hills, mountains, villages, and the coast. Let's hope they don't become too overcrowded while I am still able to travel around.

The days events

Coffee morning was a hoot. It starts off slowly, a few people arrive, then more come along in dribs and drabs, then a gang of ladies arrive from the nearby pilates class when that finishes at 11am. The chattering gets louder and louder, and we all end up shouting to each other to maintain a conversation.
After last weeks session I had a very runny nose and a few sneezes. It didn't develop into anything, so thankfully my immune system dealt with that. It just goes to show that the winter sniffles are around.
I was well impressed with these beautiful mandalas that Hilary has made. They can be used as drip mats, but I think they are too pretty to be covered up with a mug of coffee. I don't know what this type of art is called. Probably available from craft shops, in kit form. You buy the base, in this case small circles. They come with the pattern marked out, the front is sticky, so you just cover it with tiny jewels. Then paint some modpodge over it to seal the surface. Hilary makes big pictures as well. She is working on a Northern Lights design at the moment.

I took the six pet beds I made with the duvet. All six sold. I only ask for £1 each, a donation to the cat rescue. It's more about using up materials which would otherwise be discarded.
A new cheque book has arrived in the post this morning. I have recently been sending cheques in the post to charities I support. I am sure my bank would rather I change to internet banking, but that is not going to happen. People may poke fun at me, but I am going to hang on to old fashioned ways for as long as I can. The thought of other people having total control of my digital currency horrifies me. It must be stopped.

Who is this ginger cat half way up the stairs? Why, it's Mau Mau. I have been trying to get him to come indoors throughout the freezing weather. He gets worried if I close the door. He likes to know he has an escape route. Mau Mau is a shared cat, his owner allows him to spend some of his time here. He lives two streets away. He sleeps in the Summer House.
This is as far as he will come. Don't you dare close that door.

I was hoping to go a walk this afternoon, but now it is raining, so it's plan B. Sewing. Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

Walking back home.

I took the car to the garage this morning, dropped it off at 9.15, and walked the three miles back home. It turned into four miles because I was enjoying the walk so I added a bit extra on. Most of it was road walking so I thought I would wear a yellow vest. Hopefully drivers would see me in plenty of time and avoid me. There has always been fly tipping in this gateway. Sometimes it gets cleared up, but it eventually appears again.
There is a big pond next to the road. No sun today, it looks a bit dull.

I was able to get a bit closer and have a little nosey.
Further along on the opposite side of the road there is an entrance to a grassy area hidden behind a hedge. I haven't seen this before. I found lots of bee hives. Interesting. no sign of bees, are they all asleep for the winter. I googlied the name on the sign and found a web site. Check it out. Apidae Honey.

The garage rang me at 4.30pm to tell me the car was ready. A kind friend picked me up and took me back to collect it.
No other news. Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

Birds, beds, and food.

Good afternoon. The frost has gone, hoooorah and yipeeee. The birds are back in the garden and I am chucking loads of food out for them. The price of wild bird seed has gone up but I don't care. It's fun to watch them hopping about on the lawn. There seems to be a pecking order, the most senior of the gang want it all for themselves, and chase off the shy and frightened ones. Anything the cats leave gets scattered, and it all get eaten.

It will soon be nest building time. I have a pair of slippers, they are a few years old and are too loose and falling apart. I wonder if the birds could use them to build a nest inside. Let's see if they start filling them with bits of moss and straw. I will keep my eye on them and report back.

This is my lunch today. A few green vegetables in a small pan of water, noodles thrown in, drained and eaten with a splodge of cheese and garlic dip.

Just finished, six pet beds made with a single bed duvet. Someone brought it to Coffee Morning last week. I will take these this week and sell them for the local cat rescue. I quite like the Christmas baubles on the back of the sofa, I'm going to leave them there a bit longer.
Thank you for the comments over the weekend. I decided to leave it open so the erm, grumpy, critical, and miserable people could throw a few insults my way. I have no idea why you do it, but if there is something not quite right in your life, perhaps you could get some help with that. I am happy in the knowledge that I have nothing to worry about.
Now I must go and do a dog walk. Billy will be waiting for me. Thanks for popping in. Be strong and  look after yourself, and don't give in to negativity. I have found the button to view the pictures before I publish. Toodle pip.   ilona

Liam and Janine

Good morning. Gotta share this one. Liam and Janine are on an adventure holiday in India. They bought a TukTuk while still in the UK and it was refurbished and decorated to their specifications. In this episode they are travelling to the most Southern tip of the country. Watch them experience a beautiful sunset and sunrise, over the sea. They stay in a lovely and cheap hotel, Janine wears a Sari for the first time, and they go to a Pongal Festival. They are both vegans so the food is perfect for them. Who needs tele when you have interesting videos like this. Enjoy your Sunday. Toodle pip. ilona

Sunny Saturday walk

Now I am flumoxed. I usually add my photo's to a new page first, and insert the text in between each one. Something has changed. Now I can't see the photo's on the Post Edit page, all I have is a massive block of HTML code. I can't find the spaces in between the photo's. This is going to take some sorting out. I may have to put the photo's on one at a time, and add the words underneath each one. The little bird sitting in a tree is not a real one. Someone has put it there. It is the tree next to the bench. The group of cars turned up just as I was walking down the track. They have guns and dogs. The have come to kill pheasants in the nearby woods. The views across the river look misty. Lovely sunset again.
It was a nice walk, apart from the bird killers turning up. I called in to see a friend, and have a natter over coffee. This is very disconcerting. I need to investigate. I need to see the photo's when adding the words. Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip. ilona
