More dirty tricks.

This doesn't look very good, does it? When the whole country is struggling to work out who to vote for in the election next week, the BBC take it upon themselves to blacken the name of the candidate they don't want to win, by selecting a suitable audience to do the job.

It has been known for a long time that the BBC tells porkies, and will twist a story to to suit the narrative that they have been paid to push. They use paid actors, the evidence is out there for anyone to see.

The BBC are hand picking carefully placed audience members in order to fool it's viewers to be against Nigel Farage. The MSM is now the propaganda wing of Parliament and will sink to any level in their desperate attempt to hold onto power.
The audience are paid for their time. If you pay for a TV licence fee this is what it is used for. The BBC are paid by the Government. The Government are paid by the globalist elite. And woe betide if any outsider should win a significant amount of seats, panic will set in, and it will become a bloody battle. Always follow the money.
Enjoy your Sunday. Toodle pip.  ilona

Sunshine at the Summer Fair

Luckily the rain held off today and we had a dry sunshiny day at the Summer Fair. I had a stall to sell my arts and crafts. I made £50  which I have given to the local cat rescue. They had a stall next to me. They had a good day with their bricabrac and tombola.
The tea tent was very busy.
And the ladies in the choir entertained us.

A good day was had by all.

Please can I have some more.

My time is taken up with making art and crafts, walking for exercise, walking a friends dog, litter picking, looking after cats, shopping, days out and holidays, working in the garden, two morning coffee clubs a week, working on the computer, research, blogging and yoootooob. Phew, I like to be busy.
People want more videos. It's nice to be appreciated for my efforts.
Always a delight when your post pops up on my list!
It's a breath of fresh air when we hear from you llona.
Love your channel and blog. Followed you for many years now and like your wise words.
I enjoy your videos not only for the places you show us, but you are calming and reassuring in a hectic world.
As an armchair I really enjoy your car camping trips.

Dirty tricks.

Andrew Bridgen

Our board at Belton. Disappointing to say the least that Hack4Labour's supporters feel the need to resort to this. We’d expected better of the “changed Labour party.” Perhaps they haven't changed as much as they claim.

Making flower decorations

I've had the production line going today, making these flowers from plastic, vinyl, and cd's. The stalks are knitting needles. They will be for sale at our Summer Fair.
I've found this picture of some I made a year ago. I only just started using cd's then. These all sold on the stall. They make colourful decorations for pot plants and flower beds. This is a video I recorded, on how to make them.
It's been hot all day here. some gardening done, but not much. The ducks haven't been for two days now. I hope they are alright.
You'll never believe it. As soon as I typed that last sentence, I looked out of the window, and YESSSSS, they have come back. That's a relief.
And now the hedgehog has come out. It's in the middle of the garden, and it's still light.

Anyway, I had better water up the pots and raised beds. It hasn't rained for a few days.

Catch ya tomorrow. Toodle pip.   ilona

Big club.

My Tweeeerer feed is being swamped at the moment with reports of what's going on at the World Economic Forum conference in China. I try and read as much as I can but it is a lot to take in.
The New Champions they refer to are members from different Governments around the world who are being groomed to take over when the elders finally pop their clogs.
The WEF are not running the whole show, they are just the puppets who are following orders from those who hold the purse strings. It's all about money of course. This is not going to go away. They are not going to invest all this time and money just to let it fizzle out. Nobody elects these people, they get to decide who they will let in.  Like George Carlin says, 'it's one big club, and we ain't in it.'
Now I'm off to Coffee Morning for a natter.

Real people.

I had a drive out on Sunday afternoon to Barton upon Humber. I needed to get out of the house for a few hours. It was too hot, but I went anyway. The plan was to buy some special cider from the Shadow Brewery based at the Tile Centre. When I got there the place was packed. The sun had brought everybody out. Sadly, the brewery had sold out of toffee cider, so I left.

Next I went to The Ropewalk to take a look at the exhibitions in the two art galleries. They didn't float my boat, not my type of art at all. I don't like ugly art.

Oh well, I'll take a walk to the nearby Visitors Centre on the banks of the Humber. Not much going on there. People feeding the ducks. I used the toilet and browsed the gift shop. I walked back to the Ropewalk where I left my car. Boy was it hot, exhausting in fact.

Tesco shares the same car park, so a good opportunity to pick up some bits of food shopping to tide me over until I make the next trip to Aldi. Unfortunately it was getting near to 4pm, closing time. I put a few essentials in my basket and left the store as it was closing.

Another idea. While I was at Barton I remembered there is a hotel nearby which closed down some time ago. It was vandalised, and someone set fire to it. It used to be a really posh place, but from what I read, it wasn't managed very well. I decided to take a look at that. There might be some interesting photo's to be had.

I drove down a back road and turned right down a track to a car park for the Country Park fishing lakes. I intended to walk to the hotel. It was so hot I wondered if it was going to be worth the effort. I was in two minds whether I should just give up and go home. Even though I had water with me, I really didn't want to be out too long in the afternoon heat.

At that moment, a woman got out of her car, she was parked nearby. She said, 'Hello Ilona. I follow your blog and watch your videos'. How amazing is that. A quiet spot, only two other people around and they left, what are the chances of that happening.

We had a lovely chat. So that was the bonus. From an outing that wasn't very exciting, I got to meet a lovely lady. The internet is a poor substitute for face to face conversations. Yes, it has a role for those with mobility issues. It can be a life line for those who cannot get out, but wherever  possible human interaction with another human beats it hands down.

Now I am going to town to visit the Bank Hub at the library, to pay for my new roof. Yes I can do the transaction on the phone, but I want to see another human face. I want to speak to a real person. While I am there I will fill my trolley at Aldi, avoid the new self scan checkouts, and wait my turn for a real person to serve me, and of course pay with cash. Give them a smile and say thank you very much.

It's true.

Listen to this man. Take note. He is right. It's not about right and left. Stop bickering, nit picking, slapping each other down. We are being controlled by the richest people on earth. We have to say, no more. For the sake of humanity we have to reject the evil which is pushing us in the wrong direction.

Now going to Crafty Club. See ya later.

It changed my life

There are lots of van life videos doing the rounds on yooohoootooob. I dip into them occasionally. Here is Si, talking for 8 minutes about why he got off the treadmill and opted for a life of freedom.
Not everyone will want to do this, but it is useful to look at alternative lifestyles and build up a bank of knowledge for any future aspirations you might have to change your life. I have no plans to change my life at the moment, but this video reminds me how I left home at 18, moved into a bedsit, and got a job at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. This was the start of doing my own thing, and I have followed this freedom lifestyle ever since.
For most of my working life I have been lucky enough to enjoy my work. When things became monotonous and boring I just moved jobs. It was easy back then. Walk out of one job and straight into another. It started with shop work, then factory work, then more shop work, then catering, and finally driving. I never felt the need to escape, but I did need to move on whenever I found myself in a place I didn't want to be.
Si talks about how he made the transition from expensive city living, to the freedom of living in a van. This enabled him to cut his living costs and get rid of his debt. It can be done, all that is needed is to recognise you have choices, and be brave enough to bring about changes to go in a different direction.
Sunday morning and it is sunny. Yipeeeee. Enjoy your day.

I heart hedgehogs.

Something I have been playing with over the last couple of weeks. I like to keep my hands busy. It's 6.5 inches diameter. I have used felt because it's easy to work with. Buttons and threads given to me. I have enough now to last forever. No patterns used, I make it up. Hoop cheap from Home Bargains. I wrapped the outer hoop in green wool. Makes it easier to sew the backing on, and I like the contrast. The actual heart shape is a bit wonky. Could be better.

Hedgie was a bit early last night, it wasn't quite dark. I am sure he is sleeping somewhere in the garden. I normally feed it close to the house, but last night he was running up the garden. I don't know if he looked in the usual spot first, I was busy. I quietly crept closer to him and he froze. They curl up when they are frightened. I put a handful of food near him and left him to it. They must have a good sense of smell because he found it quite quickly.
Thanks very much, now I'll have a drink.

Feeding animals has become a bit of a routine here. It's almost lunch time and the ducks have not yet arrived. They will appear at some point. I think they scout around in different gardens. The cats are loving it outside. Even Mayze who is mainly an indoor cat. They have their hidey holes and when I go outside they appear as if by magic. Ooooh good, the food is coming.

Now I must get my lunch. Have a good weekend. Toodle pip.   ilona

Thursday 20 June 2024

Slow down, and breath.

I remember a woman snapping at me in the small Tesco store that I used to frequent. It was at the time when the convid debacle was just kicking off. Wall to wall fear porn made people very nervous as we were all led to believe that the world was going to end as we know it.

I was in the queue for the checkouts, and as we shuffled forwards I thought I might pick up a bottle of beer from the shelf on the right hand side. I studied the labels, peering closely, now which one shall I buy.

The woman in front of me turned round and glared. She looked straight at me. These words came from her lips. "They are there for a reason you know" I was confused. She looked down and pointed to the arrows on the floor.

Oh, then I realised what she meant. I had moved towards the shelf to look at the beer. I didn't want to lose my place in the queue, so I tried to make a quick choice, not noticing that I had moved into her space. I stepped back and abandoned the idea of buying beer.

I never went back to that shop, thinking that I don't want to meet up with rude people again. That's when I started going to Aldi at 9pm. This made shopping a lot easier.

So, this incident has been playing on my mind. What makes people so aggressive? I suppose the woman could have something going on in her life which brings out the worst in her personality. She could be having issues with relationships going wrong. Or maybe a death in the family. Or maybe just lost a pet. Or maybe lost her job. Or perhaps she believed that everyone was about to become very seriously ill and possibly die.

She didn't stop to think that maybe I might be a bit worried about something in my life, or I might have made a mistake absentmindedly, by moving too far forward.  Her lashing out was taking out her fear and frustrations on me. I couldn't possibly know what was irking her, so I have forgiven her for misreading the situation. I wonder if she forgives me for encroaching into her space. Several years later, perhaps she now knows that maybe she was a bit hasty.

None of us knows what is going on in each others lives. To pretend you do is folly. So many questions and not many answers. The keyboard is a perfect tool to lash out with, and download our frustrations onto someone else.

The garden calls me. Enjoy your day. Toodle pip.   ilona

Garden visitors.

I didn't go to Coffee Morning this morning. Too much to do in the garden. This afternoon I did my usual five mile walk. I have to say, I was struggling a bit, it was very hot. I took some water with me, as I always do, but it wasn't enough. I shall have to take two bottles next time.
After dinner tonight I went back in the garden. Always something to do. Mr hedgehog was out early tonight. The ducks have been hanging about for most of the day. They have gone now, took flight over the hedge.
Got to go. Cuddle time for Mayze. Catch ya tomorrow.

Relaxation video

Something nice and gentle to watch while drinking your coffee. Andrew has a new video out. Remember Mr Ditton, the camping and caravan and motorhome expert? I have been watching his videos for ages. If it wasn't for his Outer Hebrides series, I might have never been there.
He now lives down south and has a proper job, but luckily he still makes videos. In this new format he rarely speaks. Although his knowledge on travel and the outdoors is phenomenal, he is concentrating more on the pleasures of getting out there to relax. A great antidote to the crazy times we live in. His photography and editing skills are perfection.

The day we met at Whitby Station. I love his doggies, Dougal and Ted.
And I was at Pickering the day after to watch the steam trains. I turned round and Andrew was there as well.

Tuesday morning and the sun is shining. I have more gardening to do. Thanks for popping in.

People watching in the park.

I went to the park yesterday. It was a lovely sunny day. There was an event on, stalls set up selling plants and food. I bought a truckle from the cheese stall. Yorkshire Wensleydale creamy and crumbly cheese.
The walled garden was full of flowers and vegetables. Plenty of bees on this one.

There was a flower arranging demonstration going on over there.

I walked around most of the park. This tree has suffered storm damage. I'm not sure if they will try and save what is left, of if they will remove it all together. It's an old tree so it would be a shame to lose it.
Blue skies, white fluffy clouds, what could be better.
I watched people having fun with their families. Kids playing footie. I chatted to people sat on the benches. I told them stories and made them laugh. I sat alone taking it all in, and talked to the camera.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Toodle pip.   ilona

A look at Workington

One last post to finish off the Lakes trip. On my way from Whitehaven, heading north, I came across this church. Worth a look I thought, as I am passing. I was surprised to find half a dozen people inside. They had been celebrating King Charles's birthday. They very kindly offered me a cup of coffee and a biscuit.
I had a chat and they said I could park up there for the night. Great, that will save me the job of looking for somewhere else, but I didn't feel comfortable because it was a bit isolated. I went a mile or so up the road but couldn't find anywhere suitable, so I turned round and went back to it. There was no gate so easy to just drive in. By this time the door was locked and they had all gone home.

If you want to know how my night went, check out this video. Strange goings on in the churchyard.
Next morning I arrived in Workington. I was pleased to find there is free parking at the Railway Station.
I went a walkabout and took some photo's.

Oh dear, this piece of rough ground had been neglected. It's close to the station. The bench is falling to pieces.

A pile of rubbish visible to anyone passing this hotel. Looks like they had a refurb.

Then it started raining, so I carried on to take a few more photo's. The Picture Theatre is now a Wetherspoons.
A rather jazzy frontage on this restaurant.

Can't remember what this building is. I was snapping away in a hurry.

This looks well looked after.

This is Workington Hall. Nature is claiming it back. Now there are rain spots on the camera lens. Time to give up.

I went back to the car and set off heading back home. I stopped off at Grasmere to buy some famous gingerbread to share with the ladies at Crafty Club, and the Wednesday coffee morning.
It was a long drive home. The traffic wasn't too bad apart from going through Kendal which was chocca. I landed back home at 8pm.
It's been a nice day today, Sunday. I have been to the park.
