Hello. It's raining at the moment, our weather man Owain, says it's going to clear away throughout the day and we are going to have a bright weekend. Owain comes on my Twitter every morning, giving me the forecast so I can plan my daily activities.
He has a lovely presenting style, with a melodic welsh accent which I love. He's so cheerful with his smiley face. His profile says he likes drumming, and cats, so I asked if I could see him play the drums. Lo and behold he sent me a link to one of his yooootoooob videos, and by jove, he is good. I am impressed, a man of many talents, he speaks in Welsh as well. So here I am sharing this bit of sunshine with you on this rainy morning.
First a short profile, some examples of his work, note the longer hairstyle.
Now watch him bash hell out of his drum kit. Looks like a good upper body workout to me.
Good isn't he.
So. What am I doing today?
Playing with fabric scraps, I am in the mood for making a bag.
How are the Walking Group members getting on with their 1000 mile challenge? I am on 575 miles, need another eight to get me to the 7 month marker of 583 miles. Need this rain to stop please Owain.
Don't forget that Shed of the Year starts tonight on Channel 4 at 8pm. My shed will not be on this programme, you will have to wait until the fourth and last programme which will be on the 19th of August. However you will catch glimpses of me in the audience as I was there throughout the filming of the finals.
Lunch time, so I'll sign off. Have a nice weekend. We'll catch up soon

Ahhhh! Weather forecasts! Went on the BBC weather site before I hung out the washing - no rain forecast so out it went. 5 minutes later the heavens opened and it has been drizzling on and off since. Marvellous!
ReplyDeleteI also like this young man, clear diction and a lovely manner. However, his forecast has been wrong today all it has done is rain. I am taping the shed of the year programme and look forward to seeing your shed. About twelve years ago my husband met a man who made sheds, he made me a beauty. It is a summerhouse really with a deep verdanda to keep the sun off my skin as I have an annoying blood disorder. A man with some of your talents, he bought the spindles for the veranda from an old church that was being demolished, they are a lovely wood ? not sure what kind. I love my little house and spend time there watching the birds and knitting and reading. They bring a kind of peace with them. Hope you won something. Love Andie xxx
ReplyDeleteReally should proof read, it is a veranda and the blood disease means I cannot sit in the sun.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for it to begin. We've watched every series so far but this one will have the added attraction of YOU taking part - Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteWendy (Wales)
Looking forward to another series of SHED and I'll be looking out for you. Fingers crossed for the 19th :) Also, I love your new masterpiece, it turned out really well. Lastly, I've been wondering how Rocky has been this past week? Give him a hug from me x
ReplyDeleteHi Lesley. Rocky is having a very comfortable life, with me waiting on him for all his needs, ha ha.
DeleteAt 81 I LOVE being surprised when I find something new that makes me so happy I feel my spirits lift. Thanks for sharing this young man with us. Not only would he make the gloomiest weather feel like fun - I loved his drumming!! Shirley WA State USA
ReplyDeleteWelsh is a very melodic language - far more so than other Celtic languages to my ear, and I say it though I'm Irish!
ReplyDeleteSpotted you Ilona , I n the crowd , Cant wait to see your shed xxx
ReplyDeleteHi. I watched it last night at 9.30pm on catchup. My sister rang me while she was watching it on More4. Yes, I caught a few brief glimpses of me, blink and you would miss it, ha ha. The part where we were walking as a crowd through the grounds was filmed by a drone.
DeleteShould make a pretty bag.
ReplyDeleteCute fellow!
I hope you win the shed contest!
Your shed has got top billing on the Guardian website.

Watched it last night and we spotted you in the crowd which made us cheer! We wouldn't have picked the ones that won their sections last night. We are hoping you do well and will be cheering you on.
ReplyDeleteWatch it so we might catch a glimpse of you in the audience? Remind me - which celebrity are you?
ReplyDeleteI suggest you go to Specsavers, though new glasses won't do anything to correct your sarcasm.
DeleteAlthough Ilona doesn't know me, I have been reading her blog for a long time because it cheers me up. I would be excited to spot her in the audience, just as I would any of my extended family.
DeleteAnonymous - tell me - why do people that are not interested and really don't want to join in bother to comment. No one is forcing you to either watch or read. Maybe get a life of your own and leave the rest of us to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteCarol, there is a person out there who has nothing better to do with their pea sized brain than poke fun and make sarcastic comments about me and my blog. Most I delete straight away but sometimes I let one or two through just to illustrate how pathetic they are. People who troll anonymously have something missing in their lives, and feel the need to put others down to make themselves feel better. Sad really.
