Black hole.

Good morning. I am not going to try and unravel the budget figures, big numbers are not my thing. My only comment is that this Government as with all past Governments have got us into a big black hole, of which there is no way to scramble out. They will bleed us dry. Our future is not in their hands, we have to take it upon ourselves to become as self sufficient as we can. The bankers, the oligarchs, the billionaires, Vanguard, Black Rock, Rockefeller, etc etc, are the ones calling the shots. As George Carlin said, it's an exclusive club, and we ain't in it.

You might want to check this out.

I’ve never seen anything like it” at the £74 billion on spending and £41 billion in tax rises. As she said, none of this is laid out in their manifesto. Labour have lied to you, the left can never be trusted.

Experimental video

Hello. An ordinary day today. I wore my new frock to the Coffee Morning. It was well received, everyone liked it. I put a pink cardigan on, which I got ages ago from a charity shop. Black leggings and short black boots were just right.
I had a coffee in Angela's kitchen for an hour afterwards. After lunch I took Rocky dog out for a walk. He doesn't want to go far. Spends most of the time sniffing the smells of other dogs. It's an easy walk.
A letter arrived today from the TV Licensing people. My address is now registered as 'No Licence Needed'. It always has been for the last 20 years. This lasts until October 2025. It seems they have cut it down to one year, instead of the two that it always has been. The letter says we may still need to visit to check. They can please themselves. I have no intention of ever watching television again. I don't have an outside aerial now, ever since the roofing people removed the old one and took it away for scrap. No BBC iplayer will find it's way onto my computer either.
I uploaded this video today. There is no need for any blog readers to watch it. It is an experiment. I wanted to put the burnt out hotel on my channel, and as I didn't record a video at the time of visiting it, I thought I would point the camera at the computer screen and flick through the pictures with the mouse. I think it works pretty well. If I am in need of something to show on yoootooob, I might dig out some older photo's and make a montage, and add a narrative.
Right, it's time for dinner. Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

Let's go shopping.

Good evening. A brief chat about what I did today. I went to the Post Office to pay my Council Tax. Then I recorded this video. I set it to upload on yoootooob while I went shopping.
I went in search of paint for the Summerhouse. I found some which may not be enough to do the whole thing, but it will give me a start. The small tester pots were 25p each. The tins were 38p each. Pity there were only three suitable colours in those. Red, white, and blue will give it a patriotic look.
I had a look in the big charity shop for paint, they didn't have any. Might as well have a rummage in the £1 clothing baskets while I am here. Found me a new frock.
Shall I try it on. Perfect fit. Don't know when I am going to wear it though. I thought I might cut it down and make a skirt. Maybe not. I will have to go to a party, or wait till the summer next year.
I ended up at Aldi and spent £59 on food. Everyone was going through the scan yourself tills, except me. I asked for a person till to be opened. A nice young man came and served me.
Dinner tonight was a mixed grill. Couldn't be bothered to cook. A Quorn sausage, two Quorn nuggets, one hash brown, and nine potato wedges. With a cheese and garlic dip.
Now it's chill time. Mayze wants a cuddle.

Free health checks

Good evening. I went to Crafty Club this morning. Took a new piece of sewing I am working on. It's in a large hoop, with a needle felted colourful background and I am sewing broken pieces of jewelry onto it. Straight after that I had a coffee with Angela, that was the third coffee of the morning. Far too much for me, I need to keep it down to no more than two per day. After a late lunch I did two dog walks. I was going to go to Aldi after that but couldn't be bothered. Now it's getting dark earlier I feel less inclined to go out after 6pm. I will go tomorrow.
I had a letter on Saturday, we still have Saturday deliveries. It is on headed paper from the NHS. It had my address on it, but not my name. It is a circular they are sending out to random people. To all residents. You are invited to take part in Our Future Health, the UK's largest ever research programme. If you take part you will have the chance to find out more about your health now, and your risk of developing some diseases in the future.
Our Future Health needs up to five million people. Taking part includes answering some questions about yourself, providing a blood sample, and having your blood pressure and cholesterol levels measured at a local clinic. You will have the option of receiving information on your risk of some diseases including diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers. This will be calculated using the information you provide and analysis of the DNA in your blood sample.
I have checked out the web site for Our Future Health. I was particularly interested in who is funding this. Check out who they are partnered with.
Here are just a few.
I was having a conversation with someone who has been having difficulties with getting treatment for a sore foot. It has been going on for a while now and each time he has an appointment with a GP they don't have any answers. They give him another appointment with another specialist. He said the waiting room at the surgery was full to bursting with people going in and out. Gone are the days when you could go to a doctor with an ailment and come out with a diagnosis and treatment. They seem to pass people from pillar to post and keep them hanging on. I have heard similar stories from quite a few other people.
I am wondering why the NHS is looking for new customers when they can't even deal with the ones they already have. I won't be taking part in the research. I will forfeit the £10 voucher they are offering.
Here is a rubbish video I recorded on Thursday at South Ferriby. The sun was making it difficult to see the screen on the camera, I was trying to shelter from the wind, as well as watching where I was putting my feet. Don't bother watching it, it's not very good.
I need to get Mayze in now. She would stop outside all night if I let her.

Digital art

Good morning. Take a look at these photo's I took while bimbling around Barton on Thursday. I came a few weeks ago to photograph a burnt out wreck that used to be a hotel, but I ran out of time. Curiosity got the better of me so I drove down the long driveway to the entrance. There were no barriers or gates to stop me. I wanted to see if there was anything to salvage. It has been over a year since the place caught fire. I knew there would be nothing to physically remove, but there might be something of artistic value to photograph.
I am of the opinion that no matter how ugly a place is, if you look at it from all angles, there will be something that can be salvaged, and turned into a thing of beauty. Not everybody has the ability to process what they see in front of them. Doubts creep in, and desolation takes over. There is nothing left is a common feeling, when seeing something like this.
I look deeper into the heart of the building. This has memories of weddings, of parties, and of happy times spent with friends and families. It may only be bricks and mortar, now reduced to rubble for some people, but it gave great joy to others.
I have enhanced the photo's with contrast and saturation. Didn't need to crop them. I am very pleased with the result. My new hobby is digital art.

The Reeds Hotel was flooded when there was a tidal surge on the Humber a few years ago. They found it difficult to recover from that. Then it had to close when people were told to stay at home and isolate. Then it was vandalised and set on fire.
How it used to be.

Fraught with difficulties over the years. The full story is here, if you can fight your way through the adverts.
Sunday morning and it is sunny. Porridge eaten. The new cover for the Summerhouse is now installed, with the help of a friend. Yesterday I put a lot of timber out on the front for anyone to take. It went in 20 minutes. I have too much and it's cluttering the place up. I shall be on the hunt for some paint, to tart up my Shed of the Year.
Have a good Sunday. Thanks for popping in. Toodle pip.   ilona

Release valve.

I have just noticed that it is one year and a few days since I started the Rabbit Hole blog. Rather than mess up my original blog with my views about the current situation, thus encouraging those people who wish to engage in pulling me apart, I felt it wise to separate my writings of political type matters, from my everyday musings of a good life on a pension.
The Rabbit Hole has been a place where I can offload my thoughts about what is going on in the world. It has given me a valve to release the pressure. It's not good to bottle things up. I can use this facility to document my thoughts. Most of it is what I pick up reading and watching from all sources of information.
When I started studying this crazy world, and jotting a few thoughts down on Life After Money, I was unprepared for the lashings of nasty tongues whose intention was to silence me. There are a lot of bloggers who have totally opposite ideas from me. I see them herding together. I stay away from those blogs where I know I will get ripped to pieces, so I couldn't understand why they come onto my blog.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and should be free to express them. I had to take the measure of deleting a lot of comments. People can say what they like, I do not have to listen.
It is a misconception that there are two sides, the right and the left. This is a lie, made up by main stream media and the Government. It suits their purpose to create division, which is predicted to escalate in the coming years. One has to look at the end game. What we are going through now is just one of many steps being pushed forward by the Globalist Cults. The WEF leads the way. Why are they doing it? To put it bluntly, because they have fucked up the worlds global economy, and they have a new system waiting in the wings to be rolled out. They need to get everyone in the world documented and under their control. How do they do that? By frightening people into giving in to their demands. They have trialled this method and know it works. They will do it again and again.
Anyway, I won't rabbit on too much about it. You dear reader make up your own mind. But remember, you don't have to fight me, and I don't have to fight you.
It's Saturday so get out there and have a good weekend. There is a rally on in London which I will be keeping an eye on.

What did I do yesterday

Another letter came from the TV licensing people. I thought I had better respond after ignoring the last one. After all, I have a letter confirming that no licence is needed sent in March 2023. The two years exemption took me to March 2025. So why are they pestering me again. Alright I will give them a call. You speak to a computer, answer the questions, no time for explanations or enquiries. Now does my two years start from now, or will I get another letter in March 2025. They ain't never going to stop. Must be desperate for money.
Yesterday turned out quite nice. In the afternoon the sun came out. I had a few things to do out and about, so off I went. First stop the Post Office. A bill to pay.

Next a visit to the Farm Shop. £21 spent. I love the Passionfruit Curd and the Caramelised Onion chutney. Two of each. And I thought I would give Real Ale chutney a try. Fresh from the fields cauliflower and Brussels Sprouts. And celery for a change, to make soup.
Next onto South Ferriby for a walk. I took a walk up Middlegate. The views across to the Cement Works and beyond to the river are lovely. Although it was blindingly sunny there was a haze beyond the river. I recorded a video but I'm not sure how it turned out. I will check it later. This walk brings back memories of when I lived in a caravan while driving tankers at the cement works. At the end of the working day I came for a walk up here. Although the quarry is now closed, you can see the conveyor belt which took the rocks down to the works. There is some activity at the works, mainly maintenance I think. I wonder if it will open again one day in the future.
Get in the car and drive to the Humber Bridge. This is the start of the Viking Way. A long distance trail, 147 miles. It finishes in Oakham Rutland. I have walked parts of it through the Lincolnshire Wolds.

A quick walk along the river bank and another photo of the bridge.
Losing daylight now. I must go home. A dog is waiting to go a walk.
Something for the weekend. Making porridge is fun.

Follow me around the Arts Centre.

A little bit more about my visit to the Arts Centre on Tuesday. Emma, one of the artists, came for the day to demonstrate the techniques she uses to create her small metal models as part of the doggy exhibition.
At the same time there has also been another exhibition on. Fabric Lenny paints quirky characters.

I did a walk through video while I was there.
I did a brief write up about the doggy exhibition, you can find it here.
These two exhibitions finish this weekend. Next week there will be something new to look at. This is the blurb for the Dogs Life exhibition. This is the blurb for the Fabric Lenny exhibition.
Thursday morning and it's a bit overcast, let's hope it stays dry. Nothing planned.

Good evening.

I have cleaned and filled up the trays with new cat litter. Let's see what the cats reaction will be. Will they notice. This one is corn at £5.49 a bag.

This one is Tofu at £4.99 a bag.

Ready to go.

Lunch today was a kind of eggy bread. I soaked the bread in a beaten egg in a bowl. Then cooked mushrooms and noodles in a pan. Then added the bread to the pan and poured on the rest of the beaten egg. I finished it off under the grill. Then added grated cheese. It was lipsmacking scrumptious.

This afternoon I went a walk, and couldn't find anything to photograph, until I looked down. Two tiny mushrooms the size of my little finger. They were growing in a lump of rotting horse dung.
I sat in a churchyard and had a biscuit and a drink of water.

Dinner tonight was Tortelloni, beans and peas, and beetroot. A cheese and garlic dip for the flavour.

Thanks for popping in. Catch ya tomorrow. Toodle pip.   ilona

Notes from yesterday

Good morning. No Coffee Morning today, it's cancelled, staff on holiday. ☕
Sundays dinner was a selection of vegetables, with seven pieces of spinach and ricotta tortelloni. A cheesy garlic dip to accompany it.
I did extra vegetables which became the basis of yesterdays lunch. Added to this was mushrooms, spinach, and noodles. I put a splash of cider in it and some peanut butter. Easy one pan meal.

I had an early lunch because I wanted to go to the 20 21 Arts Centre in town. There was an artist showing how she makes her little characters out of tin cans. I stayed an hour watching her demonstration. I also filmed a video while I was there. This I shall post here tomorrow, after it has been uploaded to yoootooob.

From there I went to The Range. My cat litter boxes, I have two of them, one upstairs one downstairs, are getting a bit stinky, a lot stinky in fact. The cheap cat litter I have been using from Aldi does not clump so it is difficult to separate the dirty from the still clean litter. I have chosen these three to try. All are clumping. The Stayfresh bag is very heavy, the other two are quite light. So this is an experiment to see which works best. I didn't buy new litter boxes, I will scrub the ones I already have outside on the garden. 🐱🐱🐱

From The Range I went to the Industrial Estate nearby. I need a new cover, big plastic sheet, for my summerhouse. I went to the small business where I bought the previous one, which after two years is starting to show signs of wear. The roof is not leaking yet, still dry inside, but I want to put a new cover on top of the old one. No need to remove it. Luckily he had just what I wanted for £20.

Two dog walks to do when I got back. I just got them done before it got too dark to see any droppings. I always carry a torch anyway. Billy did three poo's, Rocky did none. 🐕🐕

Looking miserable outside today. Plenty to do here.

Facing up to the truth.

Good morning. Looking good outside, sunny with blue skies. I've just eaten a hearty stir fry breakfast. Steamed veg left over from last night. I deliberately did too much knowing that it was going to be the basis for another meal. Added to that was mushrooms, noodles and spinach. That will keep me going for most of the day.
I've been looking around the gossip columns, aka twitterata, face buck, and bloggggland. There's stuff going on which ought to be examined and commented on, but I haven't got time at the minute.
Here is a video about my face, in answer to a question from one of my yooootooober subscribers.
Briefly, Suella now backs Mr Jenwick in his bid for leadership of the Conservative party.
UK Column had a very successful event in Bristol. The hall was packed.
There is a new documentary on Channel 4, made by Hope not Hate, which is being pulled to pieces.
The WEF have finished their latest swampfest. They are going to use the carrot and stick method to force us to change our behaviour.
Karol Sekora said that the fear messaging was a disastrous policy for cancer patients.
Peter Lynch was a grandfather who killed himself while he was in jail for disorder.
Ooops, I must go. Pay a bill at the Post Office, and go to the Arts Centre in town. There is a demonstration of metal art.

HA HA HA.

 This made me L O L.

You can buy a mug like this, but I shouldn't be sharing the link, because I don't shop online. Oh go on then. But is it something you need, something you absolutely must have, or something you might quite like? Can you live without it? Will it make a massive improvement to your life? Will your coffee taste better in this mug? Will it give you weeks, months, years, of happy coffee breaks?
Second thoughts? Nah, don't bother then.

What's cooking.

Who wants to know what I put in my stir fry's. Well here ya go. Clear the decks and I will show you. Thanks to the subscriber who asked the question.
The idea is, you can put anything in it. Mix and match. Pot luck. One pan cooking.

Belly full, need to walk.

Lunch out with friends today. It was our Crafty Club annual do. I had cheese and onion pie, chips and peas with veggie gravy. It was too much for me. I couldn't eat it all, brought some home in a tray and microwaved it for dinner tonight.

This afternoon I had to go out and walk it off. I love to watch the feeding frenzy following the tractors. There was three of them going up and down at great speed.

Another five miles. Those peas are creating havoc in my guts. Could possibly be a windy night.

Thanks for popping in. Have a good weekend. Toodle pip.   ilona

Shopped to death

Fakery is everywhere. You can't believe what you are seeing. A few of my photo's tweaked to within an inch of their lives. All I did was pile on the contrast, and the saturation. With the right programme they could be manipulated into anything you want to see. The human eye can be fooled into believing anything.  These could be printed off, framed, and sold as copies of original artworks. The photographer being the original artist. David Hockney produces something similar painting straight onto his i-pad. I can cheat by doing it this way.  I like Hockney's work and I like the way these have turned out.

Play with your computer to see what you can produce.

Catch ya later. Toodle pip.   ilona
