Hello. Here we are again, at the start of another month, and it's time for the International Walking Group to report in with their current mileage. Of course, anyone not in the Walking Group can comment as well. How did you do for the first three months of the year? Was it a humdinger of an experience, or do you wish you had never started this challenge? The three month target was 250 miles for those who are going for the Full Monty, the 1000 miles. Set your own targets if your numbers do not match up with these.
The target for four months is 333, so something to aim for. I have some miles in the bank so I am going to drop down to two miles a day around my village, giving me a bit extra time for my other hobbies. Mind you, I will probably have a few days out walking as well, now the weather should be picking up a bit.
Sorry, no April Fools jokes on my page. I'm not clever enough to think of any, and I think it's cruel to take the Micky out of people and make them look foolish. I can have a laugh just like anyone, but not at the expense of someone else's downfall.

I only did 45 miles this month as my walking came to halt when I got sick. I am looking forward to getting back into it next month as I certainly feel better when I walk each day.

ReplyDeleteMarch was 96.21, running total 314. Not sure what will happen in April as I hope to focus on bicycling, to get in shape for a week long ride in July. But I will keep tally even if it drops low.
ReplyDelete122.65 miles for me, with a year to date total of 339.18 (all as per my Fitbit) Up and down month for weight loss, ended with a 2 1/2 lb loss for a total of 42 lbs or 3 stones. Hoping for better results in April, but I am in this for the long haul, so nothing to worry about.

ReplyDeleteI have found the last 3 months far harder than I remember from last year. Maybe my memory conveniently forgot the worse parts of 12 months ago.
I am amazed to have completed 302 miles so far this year. I'm aiming for 1000 miles so will have some in reserve which is probably good as my health is not wonderful at the moment.

81 miles this month making a total of 210 I know I am .a little behind but I will catch up the weather was not helpful again but surely it will improve now.i did some indoor walking with YouTube but decided not to count this as it wasn't the same as being outdoors . hope you are feeling better and everyone has had a good month

45 miles for me.One day only,was it too snowy for me to get out & that day I felt quite lethargic as a result.Twice this week I walked up a long steep hill for an hour, but haven't included this as not measured x

ReplyDeleteI didn´t write in my miles for February, because I had trouble with my laptop and the I forgot about it. So, here are 185 for February and March, bringing me up to 257 miles.
ReplyDeleteI'm not in your league for walking..but I do the best I can and that's all we can do at the end of the day. Sunny but cool today, took the dog out now I will go out this afternoon for a walk by myself. love the shopping bags, we have loads from the store and I keep using them, I wash them out every other week.

March has been a busy, bit chaotic month for me, due to a floor renovation project in my house, so I haven't walked as many kilometres as I wanted.
Looking forward to my daily walks in April. Spring is around the corner, temps rising. Love it.

ReplyDeleteHi Ilona! I had a great start to the month but then fell ill with the flu, which I am still battling. I managed 70 miles in the first 2 weeks of the month and then nothing for the past 2 weeks. I am hoping to get back into the walking gradually beginning tomorrow but will see how I go because I am short of breath at the moment. Well done everyone, Happy Easter and .... press on. x

ReplyDelete122 miles in March, had a few longr walks which helped boost the total. Now at 322 for the year to date. Daylight savings ended yesterday so will have to find time earlier in the day to walk. Well done everyone who are continuing their walks.

Happy Easter Ilona and blog readers. I've done 63 miles this month which is a high total for me. Most of this was accomplished by doing several long walks, try as I might I can't seem to get into going out for short walks every day. For me, as long as I achieve 50 miles per month I have done my personal target. I will keep going. Just got my first OS Explorer map for more ideas.

ReplyDeleteMy total for the year so far in 255 outdoor, intentional miles walked. Slightly ahead of target but I need to keep it up. I think I will challenge myself to do 100 miles this month. I might not make it but it's a good motivator.

ReplyDeleteI walked 55.3kms in March. Very proud of myself as it's a big step up from February (even taking the longer month into account). I'm slightly ahead of my target overall.
I did a course on Wednesday nights in March and I walked to the venue instead of catching the tram a few times when I had the time, that helped a lot. The course is over now so I need to think of another excuse. ;)

ReplyDeleteHello everyone, well done to you all. My total for March is 88 miles, for a running total of 240 miles. Now that our weather is starting to cool, I am hoping to ramp it up a bit, but still very happy with what I have done....it all counts towards our fitness :)

Hello. I am not part of the walking group but I walk every single day in Paris and don't want to spend a bus ticket for few kilometers. In march, I walked 190 kilometers (118 miles).

ReplyDelete86 miles completed; so 262 to date. Started the month off so well and then tailed off to shorter walks as the month progressed due to life getting in the way! Must make sure walking is the priority- and those about me realise it too!! On holiday this month so must not get lazy..... Hope everyone had a good Easter x
ReplyDelete72 miles done in March, for a year to date total of 205. I wasn’t the usual chipper walker this month, not sure why, but I did get my lazy butt out and about. So I am happy with the total. Weather here in Phoenix is lovely, maybe it was too easy :).

Hi Ilona, I think i need to pull out of your group this year. My regular walk is now about half an hour a day, and trying to build up, but the healing leg still likes to tell me if i push out beond that this year. I hope by next year this phase will be over and i will be able to up my milage in preparation of a much longer walk Cheers mary in New Zealand
ReplyDeleteI only managed 46 miles this month, the dog is ashamed of me. I hurt my back during a walk but hope to get back into doing some real walks again this month, once the ground dries up a bit. Total so far this year is 257 miles.
