Hello. It's that time of the month, the first day of May, and the time we all come clean and report in with our walking miles. So, our International Walking Group, are you ready, we want to know how you have done during April, and the first four months of the year. To start with, a motivational video to get you in the mood. From yooootoooob, not mine.
We are a third of the way through the year, a third of 1000 miles is 333.33333333 miles or thereabouts. Have we hit that target. Maybe you have your own targets, that's ok, have you hit those, let us know.
Checking my calendar, I have been naughty, I have missed ten days of walking, through various reasons. I am ahead of target anyway so I could slack off a bit, the weather has been a bit rubbish on some days, and my mind was focused on other things. Excuses, excuses, I know. I am still ahead, but the gap has narrowed, I have finished on 355 miles.
I need to get back on track. I have been doing the two mile walk, but now need to do more three mile walks. I must make myself do it, because I feel so much more alive the more walking I do. If I don't walk enough my body feels sluggish, and my mind gets muddled, that needs sorting. I need to get off my arse and walk more.
So are you with me? We are all in this together, I need you to keep going, you need to keep going. Please record your miles here. Anyone else can comment as well, it's not just for walkers. DeleteI like the idea of walking challenge. I did 10 miles walk last Friday. 2.5 on Sunday and after I've type this I'm going to 5 miles around trip to pick something up so please with myself.

DeleteDuring the month of April I walked 60 miles, bring my total miles for the first four months to 205 miles. Did more walking during April, we now have Spring weather so hope to do a lot more.

DeleteHi all. 140 miles for April. The weather is getting warmer so I am more motivated. I think my total so far is around 435 miles for the year. We had an epic ice storm this month so there were several days of no walking as it just wasn't safe. It's nice to see the sun. Good walking all.

DeleteHi Everybody. I challenged myself to walk 100 outdoor miles in April and I'm happy to say I did 104 in the end. I found it helpful to have a shorter term goal to keep me on track.

DeleteI wish I had taken my pedometre on my holidays as I have no idea of the distance I walked-but it was 2 & 3 hours each day for most of a fortnight up & down steep hills on the south coast.I have lost an inch off of my waist x

DeleteGetting out more now the weather has picked up, stopped off for a nice lunch on the way back so I guess no calories lost but such a nice day here had to get out. Keep up the good work everyone.

Great weather meant more walking so got some miles up as winter is coming and I don’t like the cold. So 137 miles in April = total 459. Thanks for the inspiration Ilona and congratulations to everyone still walking

ReplyDeleteI've done 59.5 in April, so am over my personal target which is 50. I had hoped to achieve more, but for various reasons didn't manage it, the weather has to be honest been atrocious! I've got out of the habit of my regular walks, but will get back onto it. Am feeling positive and will carry on. I do wish the weather would pick up though, it is still like midwinter here.

ReplyDeleteI forgot to log my miles in March. Only 15.86. For April I have 33.43 miles. The four-month total is 85.72 miles, so a little over 414 miles to go to reach my goal of 5oo. Now that spring is (finally!) here, the mileage should be improving. I recently heard of an indoor track that is sometimes open to the public on rainy days, so I will be checking that out. Since I am in a rural area, indoor walking spaces for inclement weather are hard to find.
Hi Ilona and International Walkers! My walking mileage for Jan,Feb,March & April is 313 miles so I am off target. I have been sick since the beginning of March with the flu and pneumonia and sadly also lost my mother to illness in March too. I am trying to get back into the routine of things and managed a walk today. One foot in front of the other everyone x

ReplyDeleteDon't be too hard on yourself. Lots of things get in the way! I'm sure one of your epic cross country walking holidays will soon boost your total.
Talking of short term goals we aim for 21 miles a week.
At the moment, having decided that we'd aim for 1000 this year we are well over that at present though it probably won't last!

Hi Ilona, checking in for husband Wences, 436 miles this month bringing his total to 934. He´s gone half the morning and half the afternoon. Is he going to copy Forrest Gump?
ReplyDeleteHi there Ilona and Walking Team.....have been away this mo th and was worried I wouldn't keep up the walking but having the challenge really kept us walking...so thank you for the motivation! Did 104.5 for the month so on target! (I did write my year-to-date mileage on my hand but it has come off whilst I did the washing-up!!!!)
