My first long trip. Blackpool to the Humber Bridge. 137 miles in seven days. The only accommodation I booked was at the start at Blackpool. I just turned up for all the others.

Morecambe to the Humber Bridge. 162 miles in nine days. Ribblehead was the only place I had booked accommodation, as it is in the middle of nowhere, and I wanted to be sure of a bed. All the others, I just turned up.

Burton upon Trent to Scunthorpe, along the Trent. 119 miles in seven days. All B & B's were pre booked on this trip as they are few and far between.

Ellesmere Port to Bakewell. This trip should have finished at Scunthorpe, but I had to abandon it at Bakewell, due to bad weather. 90 miles in five days. I had a bed for the night from my friend in Ellesmere Port, and another friend gave me a bed the second night. The others I just turned up.

Ellesmere Port to Scunthorpe. Second attempt at this walk, this time I did it, the weather was glorious. 147 miles over nine days. Two of the days were half days, so you could say I did it in seven days. Good result.

South Shields on the River Tyne to the River Humber, Humber Bridge near Hull. 152 miles over 8 days. One overnight with a friend, cheap B & B's, + Travelodge. Some coastal walking when weather allowed, in North Yorkshire.

Humber Bridge to Penrith. Start 1st May 2014. Total miles 158, over 8 days and 3 hours. I got a train back home from Penrith.

    hi, have you walked from hull along the coast towards easington.

    1. Hello. I have walked from Hull Centre to Paull then Hedon, and got the bus back. I have driven to Easington, parked, and walked to Spurn Point and back. I haven't walked the bit in the middle. It's a long way from Hull to Easington and would require nights out, I don't think there are many B & B's along there.
