MANIC London

Oooooh, how lovely that I have been missed, I missed you too. I must say East Coast Trains are fab, so quick, so smooth, so clean, and on time, I was back here in a jiffy this morning. Guess what, the hire car was waiting for me at the station, so I was able to pop to Tesco's for some food, before I came home. That's one job less to think about.

Just a quickie now because I have to go and collect Jessica the blind dog, she is staying here till Monday. Lilly has fallen asleep on my knee, and will have to be moved in a minute. Both Bugsy and Lilly were pleased to see me, even though I have some excellent pussy feeders to come in and look after them, I think they missed me.

My impressions of London? Just one word, MANIC, absolutely manic. How people live like that every day I do not know. The hostel was just off Great Portland Street, convenient for me to walk everywhere. I didn't bother with the tube at all, and I had a ticket for two days jump on and off the tour bus, but it was continually stuck in traffic. The only reliable way to get around is with your own two feet, either walking or cycling.

It's a completely different world down there, a real eye opener. People walk around, or should I say scoot around, like zombies, plugged into their personal ipods, or whatever you call those gadgets. A cardboard cup of coffee in one hand, clutching a mobile phone to their ear, smoking, texting, not looking where they are going. They are mad, like a swarm of bees buzzing about. And as for the kamikaze cyclists, ducking and diving, weaving in and out. One just missed me by inches, I was crossing on the little green man at a junction, when a lunatic came hurtling at me, he shouted, braked, swerved, and missed me by a whisker, all because he had decided to ignore the red light. Pity he didn't fall off, that would have taught him a lesson.

How the other half live, eh! I'll get the photo's sorted. I managed to see most of the places on the list, and have totted up the cost of it. In total, £190.34, so not bad for six nights in London, including travel, accommodation, food, entertainment, and treats for cat sitter. I'll catch you later.

  1. You have definitely been missed - looking forward to seeing the photos and reading all about it. My sister lived in London for 17 years. When she returned to the north she wasn't a very nice person - selfish with a big city mentality.

Try and have a relax though first eh? ;0)
    Have a great weekend Ilona.
