Hello. Well that's all done and dusted then, two days of filming in the can. I tell you what, it aint easy. We went shopping at four supermarkets, Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda, and Morrisons, the idea being to buy only yellow sticker reductions, spending £5 at each store.
You will have to wait four months to see it. It's on BBC in March, it's all about food shopping. I will let you know the date when I find out. Apparently I should get about ten minutes.
I'm going to have to sign off now until tomorrow. My brain has gone to mush. All I can hear is, and again, and again, and again.
Thanks for popping in. See you soon. Toodle pip
Ooooo lovely old job! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing it. Well done.
ReplyDeleteWell done Ilona. I enjoyed your previous tv appearance, looking forward to the next one! How did the little family cope with all the visitors?
ReplyDeleteLinda xx
Hi Linda. Rocky went to Barry's house, old boy Bugsy cat stayed in the bedroom, and the two young ladies disappeared outside somewhere. They are often out for much of the day anyway. It was best to have no distractions, I needed to concentrate on the job. This morning everybody is pleased to be back to normal.
Deleteooohhh exciting. will enjoy seeing the programme.
ReplyDeleteFrom Margie in Toronto - how wonderful! I'll hope to be able to see it on YouTube.

ReplyDeleteYou sounded so giddy in your last posts, I thought it must be a television appearance :) Hope it will be available someday on youtube or somewhere else that non-British folk can watch!
ReplyDeleteWhoops, think my comment went astray (sorry if it comes through twice)...........
ReplyDeleteWell done Ilona. Looking forward to seeing you on the telly xx
Did you meet any of the presenters?
ReplyDeleteHi Anon.No. just the cameraman and the sound lady came to my house. I did an interview once before many years ago with Angela Ripon, though never met her face to face. We hooked up on LBC Radio, I was in the radio car and she was in the studio. She won't remember but I do. It was a special day for me.
Deleteooh congratulations!! Wonder if it will be on BBC America?
ReplyDeletegood for you!!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting, I can't wait too! I just hope they give you the full ten minutes that they said they would.
ReplyDeleteWho's to know Sue, they can do what they like with it.

ReplyDeleteGreat to hear that you are getting some recognition and not before time too. Looking foward to seeing the programme. Kristel.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see it, when I saw yesterdays post I thought you were up to something.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I'm so excited. I will tell everyone I know to watch it. I bet you had a giggle doing that. Debbie
ReplyDeleteGreat excitement across the land - shall look forward to seeing you in the flesh..........so to speak
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it. You'll be on I'm a Celebrity next......only kidding. We need moree real people like you standing up for us.
ReplyDeleteOur yellow stickers are hardly worth it. 20p off the original price if you are lucky sometimes less and 9 times out of 10 the produce is already browning or oozing liquid. There are no real bargains to be had at all, not even bread on its last day.
ReplyDeleteI was going to ask for your autograph, but I already have it on my 'Ilona' bag!
ReplyDeleteJane x
What fun! I only hope that it is shown where we can access it in the U.S.
ReplyDeletebrilliant the real deal on frugal living can talk to a wider amount of people...cant wait to see it
ReplyDeletetessa
Wow! You can teach them a thing or two. They should show this along side the don't waste food program. So excited for you! Hoping someone post it to youtube so we in the U.S. can watch. I still listen to the Humberside radio station you linked once. Nice station.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing it. Ilona can I ask if you've been on any other TV shows? Years ago there was a lady on Superscrimpers and it was very interesting to hear her frugal tips, she looked a lot like you too!
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs LH. Yes I was on Superscrimpers, I was on the first series. I was also on a programme called hunt for Britains Tightest Person about a year before that, on Channel 4.
DeleteI thought it was you. Ooh how exciting! I wish they'd make some more Superscrimpers as I loved them!
DeleteHow nice! That must have been an interesting experience, showing people how it's done! Hope we'll get to see it over here in the US.
ReplyDeleteHi.This is very happy news Ilona.Congratulations, again! (belatedly, due to my being away most of this week)We don't get BBC on the T.V. but I should be able to catch it on the computer here in Canada when I get more info, hopefully.Sounds like an interesting segment, informative and fun.Bye for now,D.
