Bit pricey for a smoothie

Hello. I picked up a few yellow stickers on Friday night at Tesco. This fruit platter looks very nice, but not a lot in it.
Stuff it into the tumbler to make a smoothie.

It says it's 2 of my 5 a day and I'm eating the lot in one go. I've already had a banana for breakfast, and I will be having veg for dinner, so I'll be getting more than 5 portions today. Real price £2.50, bit pricey, who could afford that, I can't. 63p isn't so bad.
Very nice, nothing added to it, just fruit.

Cheeriebye, I'm off to bed. We'll catch up soon. Toodle pip.

  1. I prefer to eat the fruit as it is, the sugar hit is slower that way as you get the protection of the fibre which isn't broken down by pulverising it. I think it tastes better too. £2.50 is a ridiculous price though.

  2. Ilona, be a bit wary of having too many smoothies. My dentist warned me against them. He told me that you are releasing all the fruit sugar into your mouth rather than let your stomach handle it... Veg smoothies are nearly as bad.... or so I was told.

  3. Ilona our Tesco is selling "imperfect" UK strawberries for 75p a carton. They are imperfect because they are not the usual uniform, perfect shape usually on sale in supermarkets and they are lovely. Even better when I got two lots for 35p each on their sell by date. You will have to look out for these.
