Good morning. You know what day it is, It's CHECK IN DAY for our International Walking Group members. How have you done? We had 34 people check in on the 1st of April, are they all going to check in again, are they still with us?
Those who are doing the 1000 miles challenge, the target for four months is 333, did you make it? I did, just, ha ha. I finished on 336. It was touch and go for a while. Some rainy says, and days when I just didn't feel like it. I gave myself a good talking to.
I fit my three miles a day in with whatever else I am doing. Now we are getting lighter nights I sometimes go out as late as 9pm. The roads are well lit, it's all on tarmac, so quite safe.
So what's the next target, 415 miles at the end of May. Just thought I'd mention it, to give you an extra push. No slacking now. Whatever your target is, just do your best. Challenge yourself to do more.
Your turn now. Let's have your numbers, ta. ilona

Hello sorry I've missed posting my monthly figures before. I've done 91 miles in April (total is 368 miles to date). Pleased I've just got to the target but my walking has been a bit erratic, some really long walks and some days hardly at all. Need to concentrate on walking every day.
ReplyDeleteMy April 1st comment doesn't seem to of appeared i was on 288 miles have done 91 this month so 379 so far i love this challenge makes you get off your bum makes you feel better and I've lost 10lb bonus hope everyone else is doing great xx
ReplyDeleteGreat Kath. Plenty of benefits for you to keep going.
Deletehi folks - hope everyone's sticking with the walking, I enjoy reading the comments. After my 'March-blip', I'm glad to report that I'm back to regularly striding around the nearby streets & park - and enjoying the fresh air! So total for April was a mighty 21.6miles; total for 4 months to date is 72 miles.
ReplyDeleteHi all I have done 89 miles this month so total is 449. Unbelievable and yet only a little amount of time each day. Good luck to everyone
ReplyDeleteIllness, bruised and blistered feet caused by 'walking shoes' and a packed up pedometer have had me slacking. I will start up walking again but probably won't be logging it from now on. I got a head start earlier in the year but have fell far short these last two months. Well done on meeting your target Ilona. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame things haven't been going right for you. It's important to have the right shoes and socks. Do what you can.
DeleteHi everyone,
ReplyDeleteMy total to date is 395 miles, that includes a few short bike rides
Hazel
Good morning, Did a bit better during the month of April, weather starting to co-operate, so logged 64 miles for the month. Total for the first four months 200 miles. I have not set a goal for the number of miles I walk, congrats to those who have and reached that goal.
ReplyDeleteForgot to sign my name...Patricia from Canada. I have started up a new blog and this is my name, however, will continue to use Patricia from Canada for the IWG
DeleteHi Ilona - 148 miles in April. Total 429. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI found a nice 3,5 km (2 miles) walk around our village which I do every day regardless of the weather. And I did very well in April with some really long walks and a short walking holiday. So I am at 125 miles in April and 391 miles in total, and I am very happy about it.
ReplyDeleteGood result for me this month first time over a hundred at : 109.10 according to pedometer- weathers been great round here and a very lovely spring over Cannock Chase. Total to date 377.40 miles.
ReplyDeleteThink my last post disappeared into the ether . My total for this month is 109.1 miles after good weather and a good spring on Cannock Chase. My total to date is: 377.4 miles.
ReplyDeleteIt didn't disappear, see above :o)
DeleteHi Ilona,
ReplyDeleteI am having difficulty posting comments to google blogs ;(. Even if I sign in and out...not just your blog and I have heard others have some issues, so I am resorting to emailing you directly ;)
I wanted to let you know of my walking group numbers.
In April I did 80 miles for a year to date total of 312.
Thanks,
Hilo
I had the same trouble leaving comments on blogs using my Mac or iPhone going in through Safari. I now use Chrome instead of Safari. Give it a try!
DeleteThank you Margaret. Google have made some changes, I can't do anything about that. Try your best peeps.

ReplyDeleteSorry Ilona,
I’ve given up trying to post - it works sometimes but not other. Today my post just diassappeared three times so not sure if it ever arrived your end. No buses traffic lights etc to authenticate- I wouldn’t bother you but I like to post my miles.
Third attempt !! My total miles are total 377.40 and 109 .1 for April. Nice weather here on Cannock Chase and a beautiful Spring.
Best regards,
Jenette
That might be why my post has come through three times - I was waiting for the word verification. Oh well - you all know how far I’ve walked !!!!
DeleteI have turned off word verification, there should be nothing to tick.
ReplyDeleteHi Ilona and fellow-walkers, I have managed to catch up a bit in April completing just over 112 miles and a total of 347 for the year so far. Vicki
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff, Vicky. I know you can do it.
DeleteHi Ilona and fellow walkers, happy to tell you I managed to walk 125 kilometers in April, making a total of 318 so far.
ReplyDeleteMy bike was pulled out regularly and while enjoying the rides I made it to 144 kilometers on my bike in April.
Cheers!
Jeanneke.
Hi Ilona and walkers, well done, 45 miles for me, did the best I could with the time I have available. I did 52 in April, sorry I didnt check in last month Ilona but just couldn't get blogger to accept my comments - however it does seem to work on my phone. I have discovered that Apple computers don't support blogger commenting unless cookie settings are altered which I don't want to do, but maybe this will be of help to others.
ReplyDeleteHey, Ilona and walkers! I want to participate starting today, May 1. Since I am slowly recovering from a long illness, my current goal is 1000 steps per day. I hope that's okay. :)
ReplyDeleteHi. That's fine. Walking should help your recovery, a few steps at a time.
DeleteHi Ilona and the walking group,88 miles for me bringing my total to 335. Loving the lighter nights and sunshine.
ReplyDeleteRay.
Yes, I am loving the longer daylight hours. It means that I might be able to fit everything in that I want to do. The house still looks a mess though, ha ha.
DeleteHello Ilona and fellow walkers. Not such a good month in April. A few setbacks, but have managed 64 miles bringing a total of 287 miles. Fifty or so off my target, but here's hoping I can make it up over the following months. (At least I am still moving though :) )
ReplyDeleteMorning Ilona.
ReplyDeleteWell done to you and everyone else who's posted. As you always say it's challenging ourselves that matters not comparing our target with anyone else.
This month we have recorded 85 miles bringing our total to 391 miles this year.
I love reading the comments though and imagining us all walking every day.
Hopefully we “ infect” others too.
Several people round here ask us what we are doing or mention that they see us going past regularly. We are lucky because our shops are about 1 1/2 miles away so that accounts for at least 2 days a week.
Good luck to everyone for this month. Sue.
Morning Ilona.

I think we got that message, Sue, ha ha. Your fingers must have been dancing round the keyboard.
DeleteIt's a good idea to tell people what you are doing, it might encourage others to have a go. Take a rucksack if you need to carry any shopping.
Sorry everyone. I'm having the same trouble as several of you with posts on google so in my frustration I’ve over achieved today and because of the way I’ve had to sign in I can't delete any of these posts. Very red face! Sue
ReplyDeleteI could have deleted them, but I thought it was funny so I left them. Ooooh, I am a bit wicked at times, ha ha.
DeleteI'm glad you were amused not irritated!
DeleteThanks for the tip re rucksacks. About once a month we take the car for heavy stuff but otherwise we try to plan to walk and fill our bags. Rucksacks are much better than carrying bags. Have a good month. I enjoyed your sense of humour. Now to try to post this once! Sue
A bit of an improvement this month. 40 miles. Total thus far 134 miles. Hope to improve in May.
ReplyDeleteHi to Ilona and all the workers thanks for the inspiration. Doing better this month sadly because we lost our lovely old dog I had been spending as much time as possible with her.76mls March 95 MPs April. Best wishes to all.
ReplyDelete180miles from Off Grif Feral, thank you.
ReplyDeleteMy total so far is round about 170 miles. Not good as I have a weak knee
ReplyDeleteHello Ilona & walkers, this is Sonja from North Carolina reporting in-again. Not sure what happened to my post of at least a couple of days ago. My April walking is 120. The 4 month total is: 438. To everyone whatever miles you do the main thing is just to keep moving as much as possible, so kudos to all, and well done!
ReplyDeleteThis is a late entry but here goes...total miles in April 88.5 yearly so far 245.5 Love the return of sunny weather now in May.
ReplyDeleteoops that went wrong. 88.5 miles in April, 245.5 total for year.
ReplyDeleteIve managed 80 miles this month despite my dodgy knee. Determined!!
